GPU Effective Memory Clock Rate

This is my main rig, upgraded from an aging 6300 AMD system (Room Heater). I spent a long time deciding on colour and configuration and settled on an industrial black/white/silver build.

Ok, so the Z170 S is a little bit of a marmite motherboard. Luckily if combined with the right components and case (Dominator/Evolv Glass) it can truly shine. While motherboard performance is negligible between Z170 competitors the one difference you will find it motherboard outputs, This has plenty! Nobody will need the excessive amount of ports found on models double the price. If you are going to be a port *****, go X99/2011.

This case ticks all the boxes for me and personally would recommend it to anyone who is after something different. One downside I have noticed is the motherboard is covered in little 'tramp stamps', Also, the motherboard diagnostics display is covered by the GPU but you can actually get the BIOS readout on your phone using the TUFPORT USB on the back! Very useful if you need to diagnose any issues but a bit of a faf to setup

Looks pretty darn good, great build!

Hello doctor. This case, motherboard and memory are my dream combination but i'd like to know if it's possible to mount the radiator on top, because of the memory being on the taller side. Thanks in advance!

Shouldn't be a problem at all, Ample room at the top and easy to mount with sliding radiator/fan mounts at the top

Tacanacy 2 points 30 months ago

The fans in the top are 140mm, right? I'm trying to see which sizes look best in this case.

drpeirson submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

140mm indeed!

Very nice. Would like to see more pictures.

I may dig around, I might have some of the build process etc!

tadashi 2 points 32 months ago

That case is my favorite case.

Rightly so, Just buy a stack of microfibre cloths and window cleaner if you go for it.

something tells me you are a Kantai Collection fan

since the build name is based on the British warship

and also the recent release of the ship on the game KanColle

drpeirson submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Sorry to disappoint :) I'm a big fan of the actual British warship, Being British and all.. You can blame World of Warships!

dragoon20005 4 Builds 2 points 32 months ago

ah i see

let me show you what am i talking about thou

the only thing that is missing which is stopping me from playing world of warships is the lack of Yuudachi and Shigure

Hey how did you get your CPU cooler to mount on the front like that?

drpeirson submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

Hide the fans on the outer side. There are plenty of mounting options all over the case for a big ol' radiator

TOGSandstorm 1 point 31 months ago

Hey taking Cramirez question one step further-

I hadn't thought about mounting the AIO radiator in the front; how does it perform with the front of the case being a solid piece? It does look like there are some gaps for air, but looks fairly restrictive of airflow. Thoughts so far?

drpeirson submitter 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

Airflow is good :) Temps aren't effected vs mounting at the top as it's just pushing hot air into the top compartment.

Systems set to pull air in the front and exhaust back/top - Works well and looks killer!

EDIT: Updated with new card/VIVE

How'd you mount the H115i radiator in the front like that? I have this case and cooler and the holes don't line up.
