Description

My first build started out as a budget Build comprised of a Gtx 750 and an I3-4130. It was amazing to me and really kept me into PC gaming. Then 4 years down the road my lovely 750 died. I was heartbroken. Felt like losing a GF that never let you down. So, I pulled the trigger and said no budget. Time to throw some money into a build.

I started buying parts and after months of searching for great prices. I reached the end. It was a long journey and hopefully see another one in the long future.

I use her as my gaming rig of course but also to load 240p videos on Youtube and the occasional movie experience.

Part Reviews

CPU

This CPU is fast and Nippy, even at 100% load it still doesn't struggle for me. Went from 5 fps 4v4 on Total War Rome II to 50 fps!

CPU Cooler

Got it on Ebay for this price! Was used but when I recieved it. It pratically looked new and even works like new.

The fans can get a little loud and the tubing is pretty stiff, when its in the way I have it. There is no play, but thankfully no kink.

Motherboard

Needed a MAtx with built-in Wifi and support SLI. Not many have these 2 needed abilities. I don't love the black and grey but, it does go well with my hybrids and water cooler

Memory

Was on sale vs getting 2133 at same price, and love the white. It is a strong heat spreader with a low profile

Storage

Got this from a friend for free. Has my OS and boots in 13 secs. Fine with me

Storage

From my Mom's older computer and was free

Storage

From my first build, This has all my games and storage on it and runs like a champ.

Video Card

I got both of these Brand new on Ebay. With some wheeling and dealing. I manage to snatch both up for these prices, Free Shipping and No Tax. I could've gotten a 1080 TI. While I understand these are only better if SLI is supported. I did get them for cheaper than a 1080ti hybrid without tax included. That is my reason to do this. And I've always wanted SLI Hybrids!!

Case

This thing is Ludicrious. IDK how Fractal Design did it. but this case is SIMPLY Amazing. With all the water cooling options. I manage to Push/Pull on both hybrids and a pull on CPU radiator. The only thing I would like is Buttons on window side, and maybe 1 inch bigger all around. It would've made things easier, but I did crush a bunch of stuff into this thing and with compromise. It held up. Other cases would simply say no, while this one will compromise for you.

Power Supply

It is platinum, I just got it on Ebay from a guy who never used it as he made an intel server and this wouldn't work with it. 80$ off normal Price is great!

Operating System

OS is OS. Sucks it takes 100$ of the build

Monitor

Going from TN to IPS is huge. love the color contrast. Plan to get 4k when screens are a little cheaper. This is just to get by for right now

Looks real nice.

Only thing is both your hybrid GPU radiators are intaking air into the case. You only have one exhaust fan and that is on the other side where the power supply is.

Yeah the heat is rising and escapes from the top, I may put a fan to exhaust us there but my temps fine to me, plus I would have to get some splitters. Thanks for the feedback!

Ah, that case has top vents across all of the top. Yea, that works then.

why get a non overclockable chip with a z270 board? don't get me wrong futureproofing and such, but would have been much better to either get a non overclocking motherboard or get a overclockable chip.

I bought this because I previously bought an locked board. I plan to upgrade it soon. I wasn't plan on getting SLI till after the board and CPU were bought.

Nice build! Like the sli setup. But was there any space problem when you mounted the lower GPU card regarding the double usb cable and pwr cables etc in the bottom right corner? I have the same motherboard and I am planning to mount a 1080 ti on the lowest PCI contact, but I doubt it going to be enough space.

No problems with the plugs, the only tight thing was my SLI bridge as it is snugged between the Harddrive and the radiator, hope this helps. Send me link to your build when it's done!!!

Hello great build. You're inspiring me to do a dual 1080Ti build with this. Can you fit both rads at the top of the case? Or is that not possible so that's why you mounted them the way you did?

Super build! I'm looking at the Node 804 for my home server.
