Description

I sold my last pc a couple of years ago and bought a Predator Helios 300 because I was getting ready to travel for an extended period of time. Since my return, I haven't had the money to buy a new system so I stuck with the laptop even though it struggled to run almost anything. Eventually, I got tired of the poor quality and decided to save for a new pc.

When I bought Starwars Jedi: Fallen Order the laptop had a hard time even on the lowest graphics settings. Frustrated and unwilling to wait much longer, I bought this list on the Monday before Black Friday (Microcenter already had their deals!). I'll be using this for gaming, work once a week, video streaming, Microsoft office, and internet browsing.

Parts I Already Had and Used with/in the New Build: -Monitor: 27" Predator XB271HU, Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2, Mouse: Razer Basilisk, Headset: Corsair Void Pro RGB, Storage: 500GB 2.5" Scandisk SSD.

The Build Process: I want to start off by saying I bought my first computer used from a friend and the only experience I have was moving components to a new case, adding a few components, and watching build guides on YouTube so please forgive me if I say something stupid.

The entire build process was a pain. I reserved the parts at Microcenter on the Monday before Thanksgiving and picked them up after work. I'm in the middle of a move so I went to my mom's house to borrow tools that weren't packed in a box and put it all together. That's when I realized that the x52 doesn't quite fit where I wanted it to in the H510 Elite so I returned the x52 for an x62 rev 2. Since I was already making the trek to Microcenter I decided to go ahead and return the ram as the look isn't quite what I had hoped for. I picked up some Corsair RGB ram in the same size and speed and went home to finish the build. Fortunately, the computer went to post without a problem and I took it home for the day.

The next day after work I downloaded Windows ISO onto a USB drive and put windows on my PC. I downloaded all of my games, launchers, monitoring software, etc. and shut the computer down for the day. The following day, I found that the Kraken was not being recognized by NZXT's CAM software. After trying everything, then sitting on hold for what seemed like forever the condescending guy on the support line stated I had a bad USB cable and they would ship one out to me (then he hung up on me...). I decided to go ahead and return the cooler simply because I didn't want to wait forever to use my PC. After returning from Microcenter again I found that my computer would no longer boot! It would attempt to but then would give me a BSOD error, "Inaccessabile_Boot_Device". After trying all the forums and BIOS settings I can think of I finally cleared the M.2 with the hours of downloads on it. Luckily, I haven't run into any problems since the reinstall.

Now that everything was working properly I installed my 500GB 2.5" SSD, went to Best Buy for a Display Cable and Xbox One controller and sat down to game. I started to play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Ultra settings. The game ran perfectly for a few hours but eventually started to stagger ever so slightly. I've heard that even 9900k/2080ti users are getting some staggering because the game isn't optimized well so it doesn't bother me. PUBG ran perfectly with high settings so it seems the only thing holding my PC back is my poor internet quality.

Though this process was a pain I still enjoyed the build and am happy with the results. 10/10 would recommend.

Motherboard

The LEDs on the motherboard are so dim its ridiculous. Still may take it back for a better one. Don't recommend it.

I am goint to build my own PC with similar parts and I wanted to ask if you know what screws I need to buy to mount that extra top fan that NZXT sent me seperately. They didn't include screws with it and I don't know which ones I need.

Try psu or extra motherboard screws. Could be an easy fix, sometimes they're the right size

Thanks for replying I'll try that.
