Description

This build is a work in progress. Owned it for about roughly 2 years, upgrading it along the way. Started out in 2014 with much lower end components(GTX 750 ti, Pentium G3258, 8.00 GB Kingston Hyper X Fury, No SSDs, stock cooler, basic IPS 1080p monitor) and was originally in a Fractal Define R4 case. This is my main rig and i use it for mainly for gaming and general productivity use and i have upgraded it to better meet my needs. Working on eventually adding a dedicated capture card for streaming to Twitch and YouTube.

Thanks! Took some effort to get it correctly set up. Couldn't do it without my wife. :)

only change i would make is change the gpu to a 480 or 1070 as they are better for vr (as said in the title)

Yeap for now the 970 is the minimum requirement for VR. Once the prices of the MSI 1070s drop a little then i may upgrade. :)

Great build and cable management! I also have the 4690K coupled with the H60 water cooler and was wondering how both have been treating you and if you plan on overclocking in the future?

Both have been doing great! Despite Skylake and Broadwell-E seem to be the new thing, i have not yet found any need to abandon my Haswell machine as yet. Nope i don't plan to over neither my processor nor the video card. They have been solid performers. If i do overclock it will probably be for kicks and lols. :)

I love that desk setup, good job betting the battle station looking clean. Also Where did you get the backplate for the 970? I need to get a couple.
