Thank you everyone for the kind words and pcpartpicker for the feature!! you rock
So this is about my fourth or fifth water cooled build I have done. Each one you learn something and I am very lucky to have a ton of fittings to adjust the build instead of waiting for parts. I really wanted to do something with a waterway and I actually think the regular core p5 builds with custom watercooling come off goofy. Reason being is they either have a massive reservoir or these ugly long weird runs for tubing. The waterway cleans this build up exponentially and I personally think it is stunning. I am not a typical thermaltake fan in any way.
Most of the watercooling components are bykski which you don’t typically see also barrow fittings. This reduced cost by a metric ton. I was actually shipped the incorrect waterway at which point the seller allowed me to keep it and sent a second one that was the correct version. Seating the blocks was a little tricky since instructions are in Chinese but I have done this plenty of times in the past with EK equipment so I didn’t have much issue. The lcd screen on the gpu block is quite nice and allows me to keep an eye on temperatures as well as the lcd in the motherboard for the cpu temps.
One downside is I cannot see the lcd screen on my asus Thor psu for power Intake, but it isn’t the end of the world I suppose. I also must say the psu is nice but asus needs some major adjustments on this to say it is worth the $220 I spent. The lcd is only on one side as well as the rgb. Also don’t be fooled only half the cables are braided shame on you asus. They literally only had to braid four more cables and it would be a complete set.
Evga and watercooling. Pairing the best warranty with water just Incase something happens. Can’t recommend evga enough. I would never purchase any other brand if I was watercooling.
Quite an interesting case. I do like the design and how it hides the drives in the slim metal backing. It is quite easy to build in. One downside though is the acrylic side panel which I think they may have changed to glass but nothing but budget pc cases should come with acrylic side panels. Also the feet is plastic which gives a different texture, would have loved metal here as well. I hate to say it but I would recommend the case.
