Man, have I come a long way. Walking out of that computer class with an E6750 and an 8400 gs, I felt like I was at the top of the world.
Slowly, I upgraded to an HD 5450, which I then shortly shorted out, an R7 260X with birthday money (this card lasted me almost 2 years, warranty expires this december) and a Q6600 with some walking around money and ran that for 2 years.
High temps down the road made me upgrade the old optiplex case to the S340, and the stock cooler to the Hyper 212 EVO. I replaced my old 250gb Hitachi Deathstar with a 1TB Caviar Blue from a donor pc. I bought the PSU because it was on sale , ($150) and I needed to replace that old Thermaltake one anyways.
Most recently, I completely upgraded all the core components. Brand new CPU, Mobo, Ram, and GPU. As well as some LEDs to make it look nice.
This rig rocks, but some major upgrades are still left, like an SSD, as well as an i5 so I can enjoy ALL of my games without major hiccups. (i3 still kicks *** tho) Might pick up some more nf-a14s down the road too.
Ask me anything.
Great motherboard. I'd like to see the main PCI-E slot moved down one notch to support very large air-coolers as that was the route I was going for, but that's not enough to warrant the removal of a star. Great, quality, m-ATX board.
