Description

EDIT: first two pics are the Chicken recased into the phanteks evolv tempered glass...Shes running hotter 33c at idle but similar load temps...ignore the fan wire hanging down the fan hub in the back didnt work so i was trying it everywhere(its since been cleaned up)....super heavy when loaded with glass on

I use this machine mainly for gaming and entertainment purposes as well as to slay the virtual felts whenever I get the chance

The only problems I had where seating the titanic of a gpu into the slot as it seemed a little flimsy

Everything worked outta the box and on first boot no problem

Did not save as much as I was hoping too when building around black friday but the final price was $2100ish with a $60 keyboard, $25 mouse, and $25 gaming mat all on sale along with $70 in shipping care included in that above price

I got everything cept for the incoming LED magnetic strips from amazon as I've had good exp with them and their products which cost me more $ than say going through different sellers but it was simplistic

Pulled the 1tb hd from an old pc in the garage and it works just fine and will be putting in my 2tb from another pc

the monitor is nice and isnt really what you need for a pc like this but its an upgrade from what i had and its what i could afford also fits many poker tables nicely

I expected great performance with the pc and that is what I got so I am quite pleased although what caught me by surprise was how good these Logitech speakers sound specifically the bass and for the price I dunno if you could find better

the only damaged component was a little plastic piece that snapped off possibly when i was fooling around inside the case shown in pic #18

pic #19 is of the keyboard, mouse and gaming pad

id rate the AJazz Ak keyboard 3 stars and MEETiON mouse 4 as they work work properly and have kewl LEDs but the software with them sucks

Part Reviews

CPU

good idle and load temps and happenD to catch it on sale under $300

CPU Cooler

keeps the cpu nice and quiet but i think a custom setting is needed

the only viable setting for me is "balanced" as the others "quiet" and "performance" are supper loud with "quiet" ironically being the loudest often ramping up to keep the cpu under 30

idle temps and loaded temps are good even on the balanced setting

Motherboard

stock voltage was WAY to high

simple easy to use bios

booted first try

rgb headers and kewl looking shrouds

comes with a wifi antenna thingy that has really boosted my wifi speeds

i usually download 3.5-4mb/s and lower on steam but with this i was hitting 5.5- 7+mb/s over the weekend

Memory

detected and run at 3000

went with lpx just to make sure i didnt have clearance problems

Storage

used for OS and drivers works like a charm and boots fast

l

Storage

great for long loading games and works np

Storage

extra hd i had and it works NP even after multiple wipes

Video Card

runs everything i want play at max/ultra has rgb lighting and great packaging

good card to look at in the case altho its huge and could sag with some mobos i suppose

Case

cant really judge it all that much as this was my first build but everything had plenty of room and was a breeze to cable manage

the side panel with the window seems super flimsy although it survived me slightly sitting on it which could be why its designed to bend so much

great case for airflow but not for dust

Power Supply

its a power supply and a decently rated one at that with great reviews...wuts not to like?

also comes with kewl cable bags

Operating System

its windows 10

Monitor

good monitor especially for the price imo

having ultra wide is just great for movies and games

Speakers

id give these 10 stars if i could

havent owned them long but man do they sound awesome!

By the little plastic piece are you talking about the thing that covers the pins for a usb connection etc. I've had that happen with two motherboards myself.

this one was on a fan header...the fan plugs in still np but i guess would be more secure with that plastic piece?

Yeah I see what you mean now. I've two motherboards where the plastic piece has come of the usb plugs... The time was a usb 3.0 and second a usb 2.0. They just came off the motherboard with little force and were stock on the usb cables themselves. Was annoying to get them off. Not fun at all. Poor quality control.

Just for my knowledge, is that PSU necessary for this build? The extra wattage seems like overkill to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

im not to sure but when researching i remember reading or hearing that having your psu at its max limit is not good for its life or your system

also i plug in alot of stuff to the pc...controller, joystick, wheel, + all at once so i dunno if that helps that or not

could add another gpu in the future and not have to upgrade psu is the main reason i believe but i think having headroom on your psu is a good thing

Everything's great! The only thing I worry is about the storages, is it enough for you?

im stable at 4.5 with 1.29v that jumps up to 1.31 to 1.34

so far its held up to my requests which is basically being on 24/7 and random gaming sessions

OH, and not even i noticed i left the SLI covers on the GPU lol...luckily they seemed fine when i pulled them off (not misshapen or anything)
