Since you already had 8gb ddr4 stick instead of 2x4gb ddr4 hopefully you will buy another 8gb stick to enable dual channel memory to enhance your gaming experience. Nice budget build nonetheless

You can try making gaming benchmark first with your 8gb ddr4. After you get the 2nd ram make another gaming benchmark and compare the result. Compare it and enjoy your hard work.

True. Well, considering OP have the option to utilize dual channel memory instead of single channel, i recommended the option for him. It depends on the budget though.

well i will try to get another 16gbs due to editing reasons but with ram prices skyrocketing again due to the new litecoin and bitcoin releases btcash and litecoin classic it will be difficult do you know any cheap ram? or places to get cheap ram

wait did you actually pay 30 dollars for an intel stock cooler

Probably not because the i5-8400 comes with the stock cooler.

Probably not because the i5-8400 comes with the stock cooler.

Only the i5-8400 (OEM) doesn't come with the intel stockfan. However, looking from what I see on OP's internal photo, it looks to me like an actually intel stockfan and not the Intel BXTS15A.

I know for certain the i5-8400 comes with an CPU Cooler with TIM pre-applied. Unless OP didn't update their build photos so for now I only see an intel stockfan.

Agreed because the BXTS15A is a much taller version of the intel stock cooler. I can tell from personal experience the included stock cooler that comes with the i5-8400 is enough to keep the CPU within safe temps and allow it to reach its all core turbo of 3.8 GHz as that is what my sisters build got before the pure rock slim cooler arrived in the mail.

Right. And that's good about your sister's build with the stock cooler being enough at the time until it was updated to the be quiet Pure Rock Slim. :)

Is this compatible with an AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor?

  • 1 point

yes it is but you would need an amd cpu and amd cooler

although due to tests and benchmarks this build runs better with an i5-8400 or 8400k
