Since you already had 8gb ddr4 stick instead of 2x4gb ddr4 hopefully you will buy another 8gb stick to enable dual channel memory to enhance your gaming experience. Nice budget build nonetheless

LeMMingSlayeR 22 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Yes, there is a noticeable improvement in game performance with dual-channel oriented memory, but single channel won't necessarily give a bad gaming experience.

2Lazy2Think 1 point 4 months ago

True. Well, considering OP have the option to utilize dual channel memory instead of single channel, i recommended the option for him. It depends on the budget though.

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

well i will try to get another 16gbs due to editing reasons but with ram prices skyrocketing again due to the new litecoin and bitcoin releases btcash and litecoin classic it will be difficult do you know any cheap ram? or places to get cheap ram

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

i am planning on buying another 8gb stick to run dual channel thank you

2Lazy2Think 1 point 4 months ago

You can try making gaming benchmark first with your 8gb ddr4. After you get the 2nd ram make another gaming benchmark and compare the result. Compare it and enjoy your hard work.

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

yeah thanks ill do that

DerplePurp 1 point 4 months ago

wait did you actually pay 30 dollars for an intel stock cooler

cramstr 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Probably not because the i5-8400 comes with the stock cooler.

Eltech 20 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Probably not because the i5-8400 comes with the stock cooler.

Only the i5-8400 (OEM) doesn't come with the intel stockfan. However, looking from what I see on OP's internal photo, it looks to me like an actually intel stockfan and not the Intel BXTS15A.

I know for certain the i5-8400 comes with an CPU Cooler with TIM pre-applied. Unless OP didn't update their build photos so for now I only see an intel stockfan.

Tetsuclaw 5 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Agreed because the BXTS15A is a much taller version of the intel stock cooler. I can tell from personal experience the included stock cooler that comes with the i5-8400 is enough to keep the CPU within safe temps and allow it to reach its all core turbo of 3.8 GHz as that is what my sisters build got before the pure rock slim cooler arrived in the mail.

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Right. And that's good about your sister's build with the stock cooler being enough at the time until it was updated to the be quiet Pure Rock Slim. :)

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

i did not buy the cooler just put it in the list

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Aha, I see. Thanks for the clarification. You do have a good build so enjoy it.

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you eltech

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

you are correct i did not buy it i just put it in the list

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

no it came with the cpu i just put it on the list

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

nope i just put it in the list

rschearer 1 point 4 months ago

Those cables are gonna kill airflow to your GPU

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

yeah im gonna clean them up

rschearer 1 point 4 months ago

I've never had any experience with that case but it seems a bit cramped

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

not really its kinda just all fits together perfectly kinda like and mini itx build

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

FOR EVERYONE I DID NOT BUY THE INTEL CPU COOLER I JUST PUT IT IN THE BUILD I HAVE NOW TAKEN IT OUT OF THE PART LIST SO IF ANYBODY ASKS I DID NOT BUY IT

Is this compatible with an AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor?

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

yes it is but you would need an amd cpu and amd cooler

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

although due to tests and benchmarks this build runs better with an i5-8400 or 8400k

jmgula 1 point 3 months ago

How's the CPU temps so far with the stock cooler?

alexthaagod submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

i personally havent been experiencing any problems but its around 45-60 degrees celcius im gonna get a watercooled loop/aio soon so this is just temporary until i get more money planning on getting the rajintek triton
