Description

I use this computer for my full-time job as a Support Engineer (read software engineer who helps other software engineers) where I answer tickets, edit and compile projects, and work with virtual machines. After hours I use it to play Stardew Valley, Forza Horizon 4 and CS:GO at 1440p 60, as well as 3D CAD using Fusion 360 and music production using FL Studio.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great value 6-core/12-thread CPU. I was able to achieve a stable overclock of 4GHz on my MSI B450 Mortar Titanium.

Motherboard

Great value B450 motherboard. I was able to get a stable overclock of 4GHz on my R5 2600 as well as overclock my memory to it's rated XMP setting of DDR4-3200 CL 14-14-14-34. The slick light colour scheme is also nice.

Video Card

Allows me to play Forza Horizon 4 on Ultra at 1440p 60 FPS with some performance left over. I hope to buy a high refresh rate monitor one day.

Case

Lovely micro-ATX tower, although I wish it came in white like the ATX model. Additionally, the cable routing/management features could be better IMO.

Why did you buy such expensive RAM? Genuinely wondering. Otherwise, nice build. A mistake I see a lot with builds is an overkill CPU for the GPU being used but the 1070 to and 2600 are a perfect match.

Thanks! I had this kit left over from another build with a R7 2700X and Quadro and couldn't sell it for a reasonable price so decided to keep it and use it in this build. Could've gotten away with CL16 but CL14 is nice. :)

Amazon.ca, although it looks to be out of stock/no longer available now.

Hey nice build! Just wondering if the GPU is 2 slots and not 2.5

Thanks! :) The GPU is not quite 2.5 but bigger than 2 slots.
