Well it's not much

Not much? You have the best gaming CPU and one of the most powerful GPUs on the market.

I can't see any part where a corner has been cut, apart from monitor maybe, but that's IPS etc. This is a solid "the best I can get without spending crazy money" kind of build. Very nice and looks pretty!

Thanks, I'm glad you like how it turned out just like I do! Yes for the money I think that I got a really good deal like you say I didn't spend a huge amount but it was enough to last me for a long time to come.

Yep, I completely agree.

My friend has a 6900k and a 1080 SLI config, he and I wrote it as a joke because he is always making fun of me for having a "modest" build.

  • 1 point

I see. You should take your friend's pc away and replace it with a R5 1600 and a rx 480.

  • 2 points

I don't think I can get him to give up his 6900k, but I did build my first other friend a system with a 1500x and his brothers old R9 390X.

Lol what rank are you, I'm Gold 3.

  • 1 point

Plat 1 in 1s, but since for some reason I get lag online around the 2 minute mark, I don't play ranked as often. I've been playing since August 2015, and I mostly freestyle.

Nice dude, I can barley wall to air dribble, but I play ranked doubles and standard all of the time. I've been playing since July of 2016.

Thanks, Dude! I spent a lot of time working out the parts. I am a big fan of flat black with white LEDs.

I got the 7700k about 20 days before Ryzen came out. I thought about returning my 7700k and getting the 1700x but I decided that I like the 5GHz better than the extra 8 Cores.

"not much"

  • 1 point

Just a recommendation, but you do not need an i7 just for gaming. Unless of course you play a lot of high math requiring games (Civilization 5, etc.)

  • 1 point

Right now I do some video editing for a computer science class that I'm taking and I also like to play open world games like Forza and Universe simulator.

  • 1 point

That sounds like you do need it then.

  • 1 point

ya I really enjoy the i7 for what I do.

Great setup, +1 nice build :)

How's the LG 4k monitor btw?

  • 2 points

It's really good for watching content and coding but gaming on it is sort of lacking. I was able to overclock the refresh rate to 72Hz while that is good it's not much compared to a lot of my friends 144hz. A 1440p monitor with a 165 has refresh rate went on sale to about the same price as this and I would really recommend going for one of those if you game.

  • 1 point

Are the colours good and contast? And say id use it not for gaming would you then recommend?

  • 2 points

The colors and contrast out of the box are really good a little tweaking and it should be over 90% on the srgb, as for the monitor itselfs I really like it but I would recommend the 27 inch because the 24 feels a little small at some times.

  • 1 point

Ok, thanks for the info :)

NP, are you looking to purchase this monitor?

  • 1 point

GTX 1080 and 4K monitor: "well it's not much". By that logic my computer is nothing at all

  • 2 points

My friend and I wrote this as a joke because he has a 6900k and 2 1080s in SLI with a predictor x34. So compared to his setup mine is modest.

  • 1 point

you picked out the most beautiful case on the market. that one, and its bigger brother are (which i have) :)

I first started my parts list with the 400c and I switched to the s340 elite to get some glass but I was thrilled when the 460x came out.

Accurate title :)

I see what you mean haha, I like yours more though haha. I need to get on the lighting I think! Great build mate.

  • 2 points

Thanks! Ya some good lighting would really make your build great! Mine is having some problems with one of its hue + strips and the H100i v2 logo.

  • 1 point

I'm already looking at the Cooler Master RGB fans as they will work with my Asus motherboard (so all the light sync) haha. I didn't understand the RGB fascination until I finally built my first computer haha.

  • 2 points

Nice I wish that I had all synchronized lighting. Yeah I dont really get the point of RGB for ushering all of the colors at once I like it for the ability to buy any product and change the color to one that I want.

Back when you could get 2x8gb ddr4 for cheaper than a H100i v2......i miss those days :(

  • 1 point

Ya those were. I was thinking about selling these and making some profit!

  • 1 point

Have fun finding a cheap 2x8 kit tho under 160

  • 1 point

You can find them as low as $130 but they come from a **** brand as well as they look like crap even for a 2133 kit
