Description

Finally completed the build that I always wanted. Very proud of the finished product. I am waiting for some cable extensions for the power supple for GPU and MB.

Nice build!

How is that LG monitor? I want to get a good 4k one, but I've heard that the LG stands wobble a lot.

That stand is my online negative, other than that it is a great monitor.

Only when I touch the monitor which is never.

I was looking to get 2 dell 4k monitors, only downside is that the bezels are big. I like the LG, but I don't have space to vesamount

Yeah, not the infinity edge ones. I'm not going to VESA mount; I just want a pair of 4K monitors to go side by side on my desk.

Love the build! I'm currently building a computer with a purple design in mind also and seeing your build encouraged me even more! I am having trouble finding a good case for my build though. I really like the case that you're using but when I checked out the details, it doesn't look like it has a slot for a DVD drive. Any ideas? I am also wary of adding liquid cooling because of the chance of leakage so i'm going with fans with purple LEDs. How well and quiet do your fans run?

Thank you!

I was wary of water cooling also but i ended up doing it, mine has a 6 year warranty, so i assume its good. Also look at this case https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Enthoo-Acrylic-Window-PH-ES515PA-BK/dp/B019GAWWP0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1489551879&sr=8-3&keywords=phanteks+enthoo Good luck

Hey nice build mate!

I'm looking at buying the Asus Strix gtx1080 OC (O8G) like yours but have read a tonne of bad reviews about their fans and defecting. They're apparently very loud and either spin like crazy and at different speeds or not at all :/

Any news on how yours is going?

TIA :)

Well, i have to say that i have never read bad review about it. Mine is fairly quiet even on some demanding games. The fan actually never spoin until i start playing a game, and i play most of my games in 4K. Take a look at this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVlT_VFI0VU

Upgrading frequently is something builders do, and future proofing to get some better components now just to get more later is always nice in my mind.

With mad respect to Zurus and his sick Zotac Z170-AR builds (especially FrostBite) I am completely on the bandwagon of having mismatched build components for the sake of options for upgrading later.

I don't even have a problem with someone building a rig with premium components with an i5-skylake and 970 gpu if they had plans for CoffeeLake and a 1080ti in November. Sometimes these builds require financial sacrifice and careful planning. But I understand the critique.

I have the 750W NEX, would the Corsair 750W RMx be a better replacement?
