Description
I built this as a replacement for my January 2010 build with an i5 750 in it. It will primarily be used as a gaming machine.
The Silverstone TD02-E fits perfectly at the top of the case with the Ripjaws V heatsinks. I'm not sure how taller sinks would fit. I also opted for a longer R9 390 card in the PowerColor option. Official measurements indicated even trying to use a slim fan in the bottom bay of the Node 804 would be troublesome, but it turns out the case can handle the slim fan easily. With this GPU, there is not room for a standard width case fan. A "slim" fan is required unless you're using a shorter version video card.
My storage HDD is behind the motherboard tray with the PSU, and the SSD is behind the front panel, keeping the main chamber clean.
Prices you will find are generally low - I was able to purchase my parts over the course of a couple months taking advantage of low points in pricing on several parts, and getting the SSD from Crucial direct by way of a refurb sale.
All photos were taken with my Nexus 6P.
