Description

This is my first ever build. A little bit of a background: I loved playing video games and making music in high school. As I got older though, I began to party more and more. Eventually, it got to the point where my drinking was out of control and was blacking out every weekend. I decided to completely stop drinking, and my life has changed immensely.

After stopping, however, I realized I had a lot of free time and extra money on my hands. I also remembered how much joy I experienced from making music and gaming. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to get back into the things I love using the money and time I was saving from not being constantly drunk, tired, or hungover.

I looked for parts back in January of this year, but at the time I was still caught in my little world of alcoholism and partying. After I stopped drinking, I took a hard look at my parts list and did some deeper research. I took my time and really got into it.

This build has worked great and was relatively easy to put together. I'm excited to start making music again and playing Skyrim on a PC vs my PS3. I could not have done this without the helpful people of Reddit as well as this website.

Bravo! Great build! Tell me, did you like working with the MSI B150 Mortar? I am considering this MB for a near future project. I walked down the same road in life and I congratulate you for walking down the path of recovery. Very happy for you.

Thanks a bunch! Appreciate the support! I did like working with the MSI B150 - it's small and fit quite nicely in the NZXT S340. The hardest part I had with this build was actually getting the SATA cable for the Samsung SSD to fit into the side. Other than that, no issues. Congrats on your recovery as well! It's to authentically be able to enjoy life again.

No, at least, the cpu isn't.

Tip: Any intel processor without a "k" at the end is not naturally overclockable.
