Description

Built this computer about a year ago for gaming, was running the 7700k & Z270-E. with the release of the 9th gen CPUs and Z390s I decided to upgrade a few parts.

i7-9700K running smoothly at 5.1GHz paired with the Asus Strix z390-E motherboard and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro at 3200Mhz The 1080ti overclocked as well. running with 2050 core clock and 11404 memory clock.

both PG279Q's are running smooth at 165hz.

Very happy with how this build turned out, have had zero issues running anything on max settings.

Great build. What's the wallpaper from?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

thank you! and It's the Office Star, Napa U-Desk in espresso laminate

Malaysaian_One 1 point 4 months ago

sick thanks

valtier 2 points 4 months ago

Also your build confirms that mine is going to look great! Thanks for posting this. There are a lot of b/w builds but few that understand the balance of b/w like yours does.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

great to hear! and thank you, I didn't want to have too much white, thought about painting the GPU but I'm glad I decided not too, adds a nice balance being all black

valtier 1 point 4 months ago

Thanks. Ya I hear ya. I will be painting gpu since my case is black with white highlights. this will achieve a similar balance.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

good idea, should look good!

RoyalSovereign 2 points 4 months ago

Full 8 core 9700k... Wow !!! Great build btw. I love white builds.

CooproxXo1 3 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

ooferino 2 points 4 months ago

rip n' dip +1

MiggityMiner 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

really dig your entire set up, super clean with a touch of personality. The stickers are a nice addition.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

thanks you, tried to make it my own haha

AntiDark 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Love the build! I see that Mathhews jersey...

Tranquil_Havox 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

This is one incredible build! We have the same case, and... well... that is where the similarities end. lol I am loving the black and white color scheme! How are you liking your 9700k? As well as your corsair RGB fans?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

the black and white is clean that's for sure, I think it turned out well. and the 9700k is good so far, running smooth and cool at 5.1ghz and I love the Corsair fans, think they compliment the rest of the components well.

exergist 2 points 4 months ago

Slick build! I appreciate the detail you gave in showing ALL the stuff in your system and overall setup.

RhA_84 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Extraordinary! Congratulations for the job

AnonymouslyQuacked 2 points 4 months ago

Nice build, a picture with all RGB on rainbow would be cool.

a6600 2 points 4 months ago

What core voltage for the 5.1ghz?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

1.380

a6600 1 point 4 months ago

What did you stress test with to find the stable clock, Prime95? Also are you using an AVX offset?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Prime95, Cinebench as well as various 3DMark tests. and no I currently am not,

a6600 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks for the help! Sick build.

How do you like the motherboard?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Love it, working well

Halperin45 2 points 3 months ago

What did you use to make the cpu cooler tubes white?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

CableMod AIO Sleeving kit

loganbell2355 2 points 3 months ago

1+ How did you keep it so cool?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I use multiple custom fan curves depending on what I'm doing. temps are surprisingly low

westwandaguys 2 points 3 months ago

How was the overclocking process on that 9700k? 5.1ghz is very good! Congrats on the system, great work.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

took a bit of time to get it all running stable, but it was just a bit of tinkering, nothing major

Dreadvolt 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

I'm here for the jersey hanging on the wall. Oh, and nice build.

valtier 1 point 4 months ago

Where did you get the white keys for your key board.? I am do in a very similar build. Saw your key board and new it was the final cog.

JCrafter99 1 point 4 months ago

How long did it take to get your CPU? Mine still has not shipped.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

I pre ordered on newegg.ca on the 8th and it was shipped the friday from New Jersey and on my doorstep in Ontario for the 23rd

windu5519 1 point 4 months ago

this is dope but do you actually prefer corsair m&k or did you do that to match the color scheme?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you! And I prefer Corsair products. Never had a major issue with anything. Always held up performance wise and looks great as well.

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

What is your temperature for your cpu because the i7 9700k is like a fire place

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

not too sure about that because mine overclocked to 5.1GHz is running just over 60 degrees while gaming for several hours, which is what my de-lidded 7700K ran at 5GHz so really that's not bad at all.

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

it runs over 60 degrees with the h100i pro?

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

overclocked to 5.1 it hits 62 degrees peak with my fans running at 1250-1300RPM and H100i Pro pump at 2790RPM

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 3 months ago

How about your case fan rpm

HerroYuy_246 1 point 4 months ago

Are you streaming and gaming? Trying to see how the 9700k does with just 8 cores. Just so hard to justify spending all the money on the 9900k.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Just gaming

QuikSnoopy 1 point 4 months ago

I'm building a similar PC with the exact motherboard and ram. I just want to make sure that the ram and motherboard are compatible without any issues? The ram wasn't listed on the device support/ram compatibility sheet so I'm kinda worried.

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

you shouldn't have an issue, mine is working just fine.

QuikSnoopy 1 point 4 months ago

Awesome thanks. And this isn’t the D-ram one or whatever? I’m probably over thinking it I just don’t wanna buy something that isn’t compatible.

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

Did u use the pre-aplly thermal paste for your cpu cooler

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

I did, used it on the last cooler I had, worked fine and was cool

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

Btw I’m using the new Corsair cooler which is the h100i platinum

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

I didn't see those were coming out until after I bought this one, classic, or I would have gotten the platinum

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

Yeah

Epic_gaming7 1 point 4 months ago

Very very nice build! And we have the same keyboard. :)) +1

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 4 months ago

I thought the pump only reaches 2400 rpm how do you make it 2790 rpm

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

have the header on mobo at full power and have the extreme mode set on the pump in iCUE, and it sits at around 2790RPM

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 3 months ago

do your fans and h100i pro fans have to be the same cfm

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 2 months ago

Would prefer h100i pro or h150i pro

Randomizer23 1 point 2 months ago

When u upgraded ur mobo did u do a fresh install of windows? And also did u run into any problems? Also ******* amazing build!

MikeSampson submitter 2 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Yes I reloaded, started fresh and had zero issues with anything. And thank you very much!

TTV_IcyPeaks 1 point 2 months ago

What do u use for WiFi

NigerianPrince2010 1 point 1 month ago

The Mobo has Wifi built in.

Lomanomi 1 point 1 month ago

Do you think I could use this motherboard to overclock an i7-9700k to handle an MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio?

AS692313 1 point 17 days ago

Do you have a link to your desk? I'm looking to make a setup like this but I'm having trouble finding a good desk

AS692313 1 point 17 days ago

Also, your monitors are 10.6 kg or 23.6 lbs each, the monitors I've chose (for cost) are 12 kg each and 26.5 lbs each, do you think that the mount you have will support more weight?
