Description

Not a hard build, especially for my first. Still haven't gotten the GPU or the monitor (borrowing one) yet. Overall great for gaming (even without the graphics card). Sort of budget.

For sure would recommend all parts, especially case, power supply, headset, and mouse.

Open to future suggestions and critiques, but for sure worth the somewhat large price tag.

Why the intel cooler? There are many coolers for relatively the same cost that perform, and look better.

That CPU comes with the cooler free so I guess he just added it to the part list to show that he is using that, So it is possible he never paid any extra for it. Though the pure rock slim and cryorig m9i are compelling options in those price brackets.

Yah, but that cooler is not stock. Its intels answer to if you wanted to overclock, which you have to buy separately. I just cringe knowing that he put it into that crystal case instead of anything else.

The i5-8600 is a locked CPU that can't overclock and should have come with its own stock cooler. It was only the K skew intel chips that don't come with stock because no one in their right mind will OC one of those on an anemic stock cooler. Though after looking at the cooler again it does look far beefier than the normal stock cooler, like 3 times thicker and with the same fan. Just from a glance at his pics it looks too much like the stock cooler that comes with the CPU. Either of the 2 coolers I previously mentioned would have been more silent coolers and better looking coolers than that intel one.

EDIT: His pics don't match that cooler in the part list, it is short enough off the motherboard to still have been the stock cooler that came with the CPU. It does not look to be much taller than the installed ram sticks which the one in the list would have been much taller in comparison.

Yeah, it looked most similar to the stock cooler, which is why I put that. Would not pay for something that looked that bad.

Should have explained. I didn't pay for the Intel cooler, but I used the stock cooling that came with my processor. There was no stock cooling option on this website. Might upgrade later just for appearance because I'm not going to be overclocking.
