Build

Very First Build

by masked_cooper

Description

My first time building a PC. Had some backlash here and there while shopping, but it worked out in the end. And I am very happy with it! Don't rely on the total cost here, I got them few months back -- it was around $820. (Ignore the particles on the tempered glass, I need to use some proper cleaning towel)

Part Reviews

CPU

A very good CPU at good cores and reasonable price!

Motherboard

I think I may have cheap out on this board, but it gets the job done!

Memory

A 16GB is all I need for my leisure. And under $100 too.

Storage

500GB is a good pick since I need couple of heavy games on SSD for quick loading time.

Storage

Good amount of storage for small games and other backup data of files.

Video Card

Went from 650 ti to the 1060! A huge improvement and a new experience.

Case

A very nice elegant case. Nice and roomy with the additional LED strip and PSU shroud.

Power Supply

I got the non-modular of this PSU because of my budget. The cable materials are hard to deal with.

Monitor

A 75hz monitor and at a good price! Unfortunately it does not support ultra HD display when it is set to 75hz.

It's a great first build!

noice. Could of gotten 3000mhz ram though for like max $10 more. System would benefit alot.

masked_cooper submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

How? Like file extraction?

TheexMissionary 1 point 2 months ago

no i mean the speed of the computer itself lol. And since its still 1st gen Ryzen it benefits alot from faster ram speeds.

masked_cooper submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Still, I could not find any good low price at a good high rate of speed at the time of shopping.

diypartsjoy 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I would get a GPU backplate.

masked_cooper submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Aren't those expensive

Bajabugred 1 point 2 months ago

Ryzen, especially first gen, runs much better with faster memory

masked_cooper submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

It is too late now.

not necessarily.

I am low on money as of now. If I earn enough near future, I might do it...

They are, but you can save up for one.

I read your review of the monitor. I have the same one. Were you able to go above 1080p at lower than 75Hz?

Ben_Shapiro -1 points 2 months ago

Why didn't you get the RTX 2060 for only 50$ more? Much better performance compared to the 1060

masked_cooper submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

That goes way over my budget. And RTX is having issues at that time, so no thank you.

Stick to politics, Ben. ;)

At the time of shopping, I was not very open-minded to them. So I chose this ram instead.
