Let me start this off by saying I'm 15 years old so patience during this process was something I lacked immensely. Anyways I use this computer for Gaming, Skyping, and browsing. I'm overly pleased with how the build turned out, I decided to jump on some minecraft for a laugh or two and I'm pulling a steady 800fps haha.
My dad helped me for about an hour before he had to go away for the night, so after that it was just me and Paul from Newegg.
The parts a pretty standard, but let me answer some questions that I know will be asked.
Why 1866 ram? Well my dear friend, a very important reason.. It was two dollars cheaper.
Why windows 8 pro? Canada computers was out of home premium so rather then driving somewhere else I just paid the extra $30 for pro.
I got the extreme 4 for $120, rather then its usual price of $150.
One problem I did run into and this frustrated me beyond the breaking point was once I loaded up 8 and installed it I moved my computer to my desk which was at a different outlet, and when I moved it there my computer wouldn't start, I tried very thing I unplugged every cable and plugged it back in, I had to wait for my dad to get home so he could help me figure it out, it was as simple as pressing a black button next to the motherboard reset switch. You don't know how angry and relieved I was. I was sure that I had short circuited the motherboard somehow.
Anyways in total my computer was around $1300 that with tax.
To anyone contemplating building or buying a pc I highly suggest building, it's much more rewarding and you learn a lot during the process.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my first build!
Edit July 29/14: Rotated the pictures, (took me about 10 months to get around to it)
