Description

This was my first build! Was pretty fun putting it together and had a blast. Hope you enjoy and any feedback would be appreciated!

Part Reviews

CPU

The first part of getting started with the build was my friend creating a part list for me, he made a list with a Ryzen 5 1400, but with later research I eventually went with this for it's amazing 1080p performance.

CPU Cooler

The i5-8400 comes with a stock cooler, but looks were very important to me so I just went on the forums and asked, what's a great looking cpu cooler at a reasonable price point? Looks great in my build and runs nice and cool. Only complaint is lack of rgb controlling with the controller.

Storage

I don't think a part review for this is necessary...

Case

Beautiful case for a good price with nice lighting. The TG side panel looks great. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of airflow, other than that everything you could want in a mid tower!

If you want honest opinion I think you put too little into the PSU, and why not go for a Ryzen 5 & B350-F bundle to save money for an awesome GPU? Once again I mean no offense, and in my opinion the build looks amazing, but just food for thought if you're okay with it :D

As I am only gaming and not doing any editing of that source, I went for the 8400. But yea I really wish I got a better psu

If you were gaming only I wouldve gone B350-F Strix and ryzen 5 1600 cuz the FPS difference is small and cost difference is huge, and money saved could buy a better GPU which would increase the FPS WAY more than a CPU upgrade. If you’re hellbent on Intel then the i3-8350k wouldve given more bang for buck for gaming along with overclocking. I’m just saying if anything’s returnable or you can sell it, I’m here to help :D

Z370 chipset with locked CPU? I would've just gotten a b360 or even went with 8600k/r5 1600 + b350

I didn't want to wait. This board wasn't too expensive anyways.

If you really can’t stand the ugly power cables ( I couldn’t either) there are extensions relatively cheap & make a big diff looks wise

I'm looking at the cable mod black and white extensions for around $60 cad.
