What was meant to be 'some small upgrades' to my existing PC slowly snowballed into hoarding new and second hand parts I could find for a good price and building something entirely different to what I had started with. It took nearly two full months from when I decided I would upgrade my PC to finally installing the last piece of the puzzle today (the graphics card), and there was definitely no shortage of headaches along the way.
I wasted no time in pushing the 4690K and Kraken to their limits, and was able to achieve a 5GHz overclock at 1.40V just for a quick UserBenchmark and AIDA64 run (needless to say, things got very toasty, very quickly). Now it's sitting at a stable 4.8GHz, at a comfortable voltage of 1.27V with thermals well in check thanks to the X62. The RAM sits at 2133MHz (from 1600MHz).
