Description

Build hand-picked for the collection of my inspiration, for ๐–˜๐–Ž๐–— ๐•ฏ๐–Š๐–›๐–Ž' himself, based on his woes for productivity since his fx6300 wasn't cutting it.

Was fun to build with ๐–˜๐–Ž๐–— ๐•ฏ๐–Š๐–›๐–Ž' & it should work well for a long time.

Part Reviews

CPU

Runs a little high on the voltage (1.448-1.48) but an amazing CPU nonetheless.

CPU Cooler

Cools awesome, from what I saw while testing it got 24c-39c idle, and 70c max under load on a 3900x! Easy to install if you don't get flipped around, no back plate change needed which is awesome.

Motherboard

Works great, lots of support for RGB, fans and the like with lots of reinforced support around ram and PCI lanes.

Note: When we updated the bios to support the Ryzen 9 3900x it went from the red bios to a silver less useful one, but it works well and now the bios matches the build lol.

Note: Wasn't able to USB C header from case (O11 Dynamic)

Note: Had to move GPU to bottom slot, 1060 and 5700 both scratched the waay too big VRM cooler on the bottom right.

Note: I'm only keeping the mobo at a 4 because of consistent updates, but this motherboard was inconsistent and caused issues with our 5700 challenge from asrock, 32gb of trident z royals, and 3900x which behaved very erratic at first, I believe this is all due to the ram controller. Update it to the Beta version to fix all the issues WE had.

Memory

Chosen for aesthetic and die quality, looks great and works great, but doesn't sync up in mystic lights surprisingly

Storage

Does the job, does it fast and does it well for the price.

Video Card

4k - 60fps - Ultra - SotTR

4k - 200% scale - Ultra - Classic:WoW

Case

Beauty to work in, everything was extremely well thought out and it's quite a spacious case, though I did use most of its ample room for fans lol. Note: Lian Li's USB C header wasn't able to be used on this mobo.

Power Supply

Lovely labeling on the back of it and as always lovely presentation, works well. Note: a $25 Steam card that doesn't work on both I've bought or had others purchase is just wrong on SeaSonic's part, and the debacle over hitting 120% was scary causing mv fluctuations over time was spooky.

Case Fan

Sync up well, look nice. Wish they could do more than one color at once but it works out well either way.

Awesome build man! How are you liking the 3900x? I hear its a beast of a processor! I also love your case!

From the owner of the system: I'm liking it pretty ******* good dog, straight up did not break yet, so. In reality though, it is very good, I can run GTA V at maximum settings while screen sharing it alt tabbed ant feel no performance drop. And that is a real statement.

That is awesome to hear, AMD came back in a very big way. I was really close to getting the 3900x but I just could not justify it in my head. That is great that to hear because there needs to be competition with Intel these days.

Whats the max GPU temp you have seen?

System was built for airflow, so max temps on this system wouldn't match many other systems, I can tell you on my personal rig which uses the same board but is a red devil variant of the 5700, gets around 60c max at 50% fan, 80c at 15% fan and 31c at full speed under load 4k60

Hey man, how are u liking the RX5700 Challenger so far? This one went on sale this week in my country and seriously considering grabing it. Have u bios flashed it to XT?

I donโ€™t personally intend on BIOS Flashing any of the 5700โ€™s in the systems Iโ€™ve built, both this one and my personal system had issues with the gpu drivers, they seem to be the main issue but another thing to note is if you have an LG ultra wide 75 hz monitor, it will be unusable due to the incompatibility between the two.

Thanks man, still deciding, and your comment helped me tremendously as I'm about to buy the LG 75hz IPS UW and was planning on getting the RX 5700. Thanks.

Client was aware of the cost difference and chose them purely for aesthetic. But one thing you seem to lack knowledge of is the chipset types, these TridentZ Royals have Samsung B-Die memory, which is often the most stable for over clocking and preferable to any Ryzen system. For instance, my personal rig features Hynix memory which is of lesser quality and costs significantly less. Another thing to note is that our market is potentially very different from your own and this included the sales tax of our state.

Hopefully this was insightful, have a wonderful day!
