First ever build I've done. It was a while ago but I never posted. This PC is mainly used for gaming though I now have the programs to run some video and photo editing and do each of those now though not nearly as much as I game. Anyway here it is! I'll try not to make this too long but here it goes.
Some background: I had previously bought an Alienware desktop (yes I know...I was weak...) mainly for gaming. Reason being was I didn't want to get into the trouble of building something I had limited knowledge on. Then after watching a youtuber build a custom water cooled PC for himself, I started to change my mind. A friend then started to build one and I decided I'll give it a shot. After months of research through various sites (like this one) and some sound advice from my father (works in IT) I finally started buying parts. I wanted to get the best parts there were without breaking the bank and giving it a nice color theme along with water cooling.
After few months of buying piece by piece to get the best deals, I finally finished it. I initially wanted to wait for the (now released) new Nvidia GTX cards that were, at the time, rumored to be coming out soon. But I figured every day I waited, the parts I already had were getting older and outdated so eventually I bought the 780ti which turned out great. In fact I thought the whole build turned out great personally and it now sits proudly in my room! Didn't have any trouble surprisingly. The only thing I was concerned about was the water cooling but that went smoother than I thought. Went with the XSPC blocks and reservoir. Finding a spot to put the Photon was tricky but I found a spot for it. Wire management was pretty rough as well. I'd like to make it a little cleaner but for now it'll do.
This being my first build, I realize there might be many things I could've done better, but I bought each part and brand for a reason. The extra stuff was just for fun haha. Of course, any comments and constructive criticism are welcome! I'll try to upload some more recent pics at some point.
