Description

Hey guys! This last year my laptop decided to start dying, and by December, I decided it was about time I entered the world of custom PCs. I spent hours on research, and finally found the parts I wanted to go with. So after Christmas, I started ordering.

CPU: I chose this CPU because it seemed to preform well for a budget CPU, especially since I got it for $50 2 days after Christmas. It seems to be running to my standards in games.

Motherboard: I took a risk with this motherboard, with some of its online reviews of undetected ram slots and it just not working for some people, but I wanted an atx motherboard, so I got this guy. Absolutely no problems so far.

memory: It's RAM.

Hard drive: I actually got this hard drive for Christmas with plans to upgrade my laptop, but it ended up going in this desktop because I needed a hard drive.

Video Card: I got this for the price of a 750ti with Amazon prime. It absolutely reaches my standard in games for quality and Frames. Amazing budget card.

Case: I got this case when it was on sale for $35, and because corsair tends to make really nice products. I actually ended up ordering 2 cases, the other one being a LOGISYS case that was just horrible. This case has decent cable management for the price.

Power Supply: I chose this power supply because it was semi-modular, 500 watts, and 80+ bronze efficiency. It is defiantly probably the first thing I will upgrade, because it's not really meant for gaming.

For peripherals I have the razer deathstalker essential 2014 keyboard, a blue snowball mic, Cyber acoustics CA-3602 speakers (amazing speakers for price) and an anker mousepad.

Benchmarks:

Cinebench: OpenGL: 62.35 FPS CPU: 308 CB

Heaven Benchmark: FPS: 111.7 Score: 2814 Max FPS: 221.9 Quality was high

Ark: survival evolved Ran at high settings at 30 fps for most areas. Would occasionally drop down to the 20s

More benchmarks to come soon. Downloading games again.

Part Reviews

CPU

Amazing budget CPU. If you want to get into PC gaming on a little bit of the cheaper side go this route!

Motherboard

I saw a lot of bad reviews on this motherboard, but I took a risk and ordered it because I wanted an ATX board. I have had no problems with it what so ever. If you want an ATX FM2+ board that's blue, go with this one.

Video Card

AMAZING card. I absolutely love it, runs all games smoothly so far on high to ultra settings.

Case

awesome case. Case with a nice fan, and it's durable. Nice cable management for the price.

Wireless Network Adapter

Does what I need it to do

Interesting hard drive. I love seeing these well thought out budget builds. i helped a friend to build a computer and i recommended him the dream setup of an Athlon X4 860k and GTX 950!

Yeah I got this hard drive for Christmas for my laptop originally but I started building this PC at that time so I just threw it in it. I put alot of research into these parts so I could find the price to prefomence and it ran alot better than expected. Now I just need better internet xD

Awesome parts selection for the budget!! All you need is a bit of cable cleanup, especially the data cables, and you'll have a killer looking pc. I personally would have gone with a different Psu and case, however. Also, you Psu is upside down.

I would had gone with a different case to, the problem was that I had already spent $30 on a worthless piece of junk case. I would of had much more cable management room with a different case. And I totally just realized that my PSU was upside down lol

I was also in a rush to finish this thing without paying to much attention to cable management, considering I was running off a horrid craptop that couldn't even play Minecraft at 30 fps on vanilla even though the craptop was $580.

This is actually what I plan to upgrade to in the near future. Maybe 2 pascal gpus instead. I already have the 4770k I was able to salvage from a dell desktop and confirm working on my friends PC http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WqbzBm

Not a bad setup, but please do not go with 2 950s. Just buy a 970 of an r9 390 instead. You will only get 2gb of vram and 2 weak cards are Always worse that 1 strong one. Also, my friend has an Overseer RX-1 and imho, it is a really ugly case. The Define S or Enthoo pro are far better cases for the same price.

Okay. I was just gonna do 2 950s because I already have the one. Chances are I will actually be buying a pascal gpu when it comes out. And I was looking at builds in the case and it didn't look bad, so I just added it. I just threw this thing together lol

One more thing I should add is the H60 will become super loud. I had an H80, and the thing horribly loud. There are equal and better performing air coolers for the same price as the h60, which I would highly recommend to buy instead. Also, corsage aios are super cheap and many run into pump issues eventually, like I did. They don't have very good longetivity.

Okay. I will probably actually go with a kraken or something. I just kinda threw this in the part list

Oh I totally remember looking at your build when I was purchasing stuff to see if you had any problems with the motherboard! My PC isn't based off yours though :P

Yeah, it's honesty a really nice board it shouldn't have such bad reviews. I'm almost tempted to order a second to see if it has any problems
