Very nice build! For 1080p gaming this thing will play just about any game out there at very good settings for under $1k. We are closely approaching the final days of quad-core CPUs in mid-high end gaming systems as most new AAA games are scaling much better with 6+ cores, but even in a year or two if you decide to swap out the i3 for an 8600/8700k the option is there because you have a very nice foundation.

+1

Thank you for the feedback :) Yeah i will be upgrading cpu after few years or earlier if needed.

LeMMingSlayeR 22 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

It's very nice to build a PC spec'd to what you need right now, but with the forethought to allow for upgradeability. Early last year I was debating between a 7700k (Coffee Lake wasn't out yet) and my current Ryzen 1700. One of the deciding factors for me was when AMD promised to support the AM4 platform through 2020, I knew that by their own product roadmap I would have at least two Zen generations plus a mid-gen refresh that would all be compatible with my motherboard. I have learned over the years that I like to keep my builds as long as possible (My last gaming PC ran for 6 years for me and was an FX build that had been itself an upgraded form of the original Phenom II X4 build) and having a few generations of CPU available for any future upgrade makes sense.

Foxquy 1 point 4 months ago

That's a lot of power for just CS GO...

louhis12 submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Yeah it is =P

KingAnonymity1 1 point 2 months ago

Can you overclock it with that motherboard?

louhis12 submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

No i cant. CPU still delivers good performance with 4 Ghz :)

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Still trying to find the power. If anything, it's the perfect amount of power for just CS and a couple other games.

DerplePurp 1 point 4 months ago

for the ssd and gpu there are def better deals you could have gotten like an 860 evo 500gb for that price and also any rx 580

sirkittylover 3 points 4 months ago

the rx 580 and 1060 6gb are almost the same performance with the 1060 being about 2% better

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB-vs-AMD-RX-580/3639vs3923

louhis12 submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Thank you for commenting.

I picked up GPU just for the looks, I could say that I built this pc around it.

860 500gb would have been better value overall but from where I am from 860 500gb is 30% more expensive than 970 250gb. So I went for 970 because I don’t want to pay for storage which I would not use. So 970 250 is better value for me

RettroGlitch 1 point 4 months ago

Could this computer run games like PUBG, OW, BO4? I am kinda new and don't really know what things can and can't run.

louhis12 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Hey, i havent played those game with this pc yet. But according others which use same CPU and gpu

High settings 1080p: PUGB 85FPS OW: 130FPS

And BO4 with 1080p and med/high settings 80FPS

take this with a grain of salt because these are only estimated.

Well that was unnecessary. Who cares if his computer is more than capable of playing CSGO. you've gotta be stupid to go degrade someone for showing off the system build they are proud of just cause of the games he plays. But at least you got your 2 cents in, you really showed him didn't you?

HotShot_01 9 Builds -5 points 4 months ago

First off i want to address that I'm not degrading him or anything and if you actually read everything i said including my reply to my own comment i do like his PC.

I just believe its a waste of money and that the decision to spend so much to play a game that requires so little is basically stupid. Unless they actually have some mental disability then i am sorry if i did offend them and i truly am. Its just common sense.

Sure you might want to be an enthusiast but whats the point getting a Titan XP if your not going to utilise its full potential when playing Minecraft or Half Life (for example).

My first PC has a GTX 670 used and 4GB of ram on a quad core CPU and my goal was to run fallout 4 because when i bought it my laptop couldn't run it.. or anything for that matter.. Yes i did overpay for a lot of stuff but i was sensible to know i was going to utilise my parts and its performance more than going overkill for no reason and no actual "furtureproofing"

Lastly, If you seem so sensitive about other peoples opinions then why comment in the first place? This is just my opinion from 1 person at this time. Im sure others would agree but dont need to be so smug about yourself either.

That's fine that it's your opinion but goodness, there are much better ways to state opinions. Constructive criticism is the best if you don't agree about something and without sounding like a jerk.

And second, don't go referring the mental disabled as an excuse for someone's decisions. I have a speech disorder which is Aphasia, minor osteoporosis and have Asthma.

Since the day I was born I had doctors saying that I wasn't suppose to walk and talk and be bound to a wheelchair for life. None of that became true thanks to my parents, especially my mom. I had therapists, tutors, even some teachers who didn't give up on me because they thought differently.

I'm 30 now and most people I work with have no idea. Now it can be noticed from time to time when I'm tired, but it doesn't completely hinder my understanding and ability to do the task. It's not an excuse, you work around the brick wall to make life work.

I highly doubt a mental disability is one of the reasons for someone's decision base upon their parts so please don't use such a reference again.

Lastly, If you seem so sensitive about other peoples opinions then why comment in the first place? This is just my opinion from 1 person at this time. Im sure others would agree but dont need to be so smug about yourself either.

It's what you commented and how you stated it. You're right that it's no better to be a jerk in return but you certainly started some sensitive remarks. OP's build will serve them well regardless on how they use it. And sounds like they do more than just CS:GO.

Sorry but did you actually read anything i said? You focus on such minuscule details of my comment and take a lot out of context or just make stuff up because i mentioned it

Edit: furthermore you seem to misunderstand the points i was trying to make about the overspending of his PC and bare in mind the fact that while you also seem to now put this on me being discriminate towards disabled people for some reason, i had no actual context to what he used the PC for besides saying he plays CSGO. Since you cant take that into account yourself and now try and show me off as some bully when i was just trying to voice my opinion.. is also wrong

Oh and if you want to talk about disabled people. Im very short sighted. I cant see more than a few feet in-front of me. I was born with breathing problems and my mother is extremely death and also to top it off was agonised and cured of some cancer i dont remember the name of, but possibly fatal.

Eltech 20 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Yes I did. I didn't make it up. It's how you stated your comments is what took away your main points.

I get it, OP didn't need a powerful mid-range computer to play CS:GO, if only that game, and should pair with a 240Hz monitor as you stated. Yet it detracts your main points when you are being blunt and keep saying the person is stupid if that was the decision making.

Edit: furthermore you seem to misunderstand the points i was trying to make about the overspending of his PC and bare in mind the fact that while you also seem to now put this on me being discriminate towards disabled people for some reason, i had no actual context to what he used the PC for besides saying he plays CSGO. Again it's how you stated it. You could have approached the statements very differently. You didn't have to use the comment about a mental disability as a possible reason for their decision making.

I'm sorry to hear that. That can be very difficult, especially when cancer hits someone close to you. I hope she is having good treatment and some kind of comfort is being given to her.

My mom had breast cancer and manage to fight hers off. But yes it's more difficult when it's someone who may have a fatal condition and all I can say is enjoy the time together and offer comfort.

It's not easy. I had a friend died of cancer not too long ago, last week, and no it doesn't correlate with a relative but it's difficult. Best wishes and offer my prayers to you and your mother.

i have 144hz monitor. And i dont play just csgo but at the moment it is game which i play. I didnt seek best perform/price ratio. I picked part which would fit nicely together.

When i was choosing part i compared them to my previous PC which was GTX 745 I5 4460S 8gb ddr3 ram

Compared to that, this is pretty solid upgrade from my latest pc which worked already somehow fine. Maybe i would have saved 50usd but that dosnt matter to me because i got what i wanted.

edit: And who would not like over the roof fps just for sake of fps ;)

HotShot_01 9 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Well in that case then you made some good choices and like i said, a very solid build. The GTX 1060 6GB is one of the most pupular graphics cards in recent years for PC gamers and especially on steam (for those who participated in the surveys)

I also play CSGO on an overpowered PC but i intend to get a proper Gsync 144hz monitor when i have the money as most of my stuff is used.

Triniking 1 Build 3 points 4 months ago

He was just using CS:GO as his system benchmark.

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Oh shut your trap. Have you seen your current build? Eck. So many kids on PCPP judging other people's financial decisions.

HotShot_01 9 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Yeah i see my build every day since it sits on my desk next to me.

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Then you would know what stupid looks like. Why bash on someone's build decision(s) if yours could use work?

HotShot_01 9 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Well my PC was on a very tight budget to begin with so for what ive spent over the past 2 years i think has been quite reasonable and not "what stupid looks like". The only thing i think my build is poor on is the storage since i overspent that to get it built on the day everything else arrived.

I also would like to clarify that most of the people who replied to this comment i made are right. I was a bit rude calling the submitter stupid so much, but unfortunately everyone forgets that i actually do like this build, as well and i also wrote a positive comment which people also want to down-vote.

If you want to act like an arse like everyone else that's fine but don't bash me for saying that my comment was bad criticism when you then have a go at me doing the exact same thing,

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

So, because you said something nice about his build justifies you calling a person stupid?

You're a child. Grow up.

Will do.

HotShot_01 9 Builds -2 points 4 months ago

Otherwise, its a solid build that should last you quite some time, even with RTX coming out and Ryzen being basically the best choice now for budget systems with price 2 performance always being sought after in hardware.

WPK_Tater 3 points 4 months ago

RTX is already out.
