Description

It all started when my brother got a PC. We used to play on PS4 all the time. When he got his PC, we stopped playing together as much. That pushed me to buy a PC, even though I was already thinking about it. I wanted something that would destroy a console. I love this thing and would never give it up. I may do a custom loop when I get the money, and I am going to get 16 GBs of RAM. The 1070 isn't in this picture because I didn't have it when I took them.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU for the money! I wouldn't get this with Ryzen coming out soon but I got it to 4.6 GHz on air easy.

CPU Cooler

Keeps my CPU nice and cool and mounting was really easy. This will beat a good amount of AIOs and last a lot longer too. Oh, did I add there's zero chance of leakage? 6-year warranty! The RAM clearance can be an issue if you have huge RAM, but it's a really solid choice.

Motherboard

Great looking motherboard, pictures don't do it justice! I like the expand-ability, but I had trouble with the I/O shield and the 2nd PCI-e slot doesn't work. These are the reasons I am not giving it 5 stars.

Memory

RAM is RAM, and this is no different.

Storage

Lightning fast, PC boots in less than 1 minute. If you're on a budget though, don't get this.

Storage

Great storage and great load times, but a bit pricey.

Video Card

This is one of the greatest cards made by NVidia, and paired with the legendary MSI cooler, MSI knows what they are doing.

Case

Beautiful case. Lights for the I/O shield come with this case and the NZXT logo in the case lights up white, I highly recommend this case.

Basing my build off of yours. Just bought the case I don't think i need to crazy HDD storage though. I got seagate barracuda :) + i just got a i7 7700k - Same cooler as well (noctua) I am going to get a Corsair PSU I also want to get the motherboard - MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Motherboard (you think thats a good idea?) Cosair vengance memory for me.

Need to get GPU. Thinking msi 1080.

What do you think of the mobo i am getting?

Pretty good, MSI is pretty reliable and the 1080 isn't a bad idea either.

Will the mobo i want (MSI Z270 Gaming M5) be okay with the Noctua though ?

Yes. Z270 and Z170 are practically identical except with a couple new features.

Just out of curiosity, if you were going red build why not go for a ryzen build? keep it all sortsa red everywhere haha.

Im an intel person myself but generally when i see red builds they are 99% AMD based.

Just curious.

Nice build thought!

I like the look of red PCs, they look aggressive and clean. Besides I finished it before Ryzen came out and I just put it up. Plus AMD's GPUs are more for the builder with a budget and they don't have the performance of a 1070.

sli 2 RX480! haha nah i can see that and yea ryzen is so new so it makes sense. I just uploaded my new build and decided to rock a 1080 and even 2 slid RX 480's i dont think would keep up. itd be super close but i think the lack of sli support universally would cause them to fall short.
