Description

I just want to get some opinions on what I did to the hard drive cage and the hard drive. The hard drive is mounted in a 5.25 bay with twist ties xD

I posted this build around 6 months ago and I have worked on cable management and such since then!

CPU: I was looking for something cheap and I saw benchmarks of it VS the 6300 and didn't really see a reason to spend another 20$ (at the time) but now i'm really regretting my decision because it is ALOT weaker in cpu bound games :(

CPU COOLER: Stock cooler was way too loud for my liking so I upgraded it and i'm very impressed with how quiet it is and how cool it keeps my CPU in the Texas heat xD

Motherboard: Looked promising at the time but i'm also regretting not spending a little more to get something that actually has some overclocking potential

RAM: I heard G.skill is the goddess of ram.

HDD: Needed alot of storage for cheap and after looking around Western Digital seemed very reliable.

Video Card: I was looking for something to max out games at 1080p and this thing does provide excellent performance for the money!!

Case: Heard good things about NZXT and this looked good and was cheap.

PSU: Heard horror stories about power supply's destroying computers so I did my research and Corsair seemed to be very reliable, it's quiet and my PC hasn't blown up yet so i'm happy :D

Placing components on grounded surfaces that have a low resistance can do the same electrostaticdischarge damage as when touching components whilst ungrounded...

I made sure to touch something metal every couple of minutes! EDIT: The hockey table is made out of wood..

This kinda looks like mine! Nice job, balanced parts and good cable management.

The only change I would have made is getting the 6300 for a couple more bucks. For $20, I think the extra two cores would have been worth it. Oh well, you can always upgrade.

My next upgrade is going to be the Asus Z97-A mobo and the anniversary pentium ;) Going to overclock the snot out of it hopefully

How's the Motherboard? Should I get it if I am not going to overclock?

If you aren't going to overclock or use the 125w cpu's it'll be fine

Is the fan on the CPU cooler forcing air downward? I feel like that will put a lot more heat on your GPU than necessary.

Solid build other than that though.

I'll flip it :D Thanks

Flip your CPU cooler 180-degrees. It's currently blowing hot air downward, which doesn't make any sense - you want it to blow the air up and out of the case. Also, flip your power supply upside-down so it draws in fresh, cool air from beneath the PC case.

I'll flip the cpu cooler but with the psu I already got all the cable management done and i'm lazy xD

It wont really affect your cable management if you flip the PSU also :) Just unscrew, flip, and screw it back in - cables dont need to be touched.

What did you have to do to take out the drive bays??

The Hyper 212 EVO is actually better than an H60, I believe.
