This is my baby I have just finished my last upgrade for a while but in the last 3 years it has come a very long way!
I traded an old gaming laptop and a PS3 for the original gaming PC on Craigslist.
Here is the specs from when I first had it. NZXT Lexa s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146060
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128417
XFX GT240XZNFC GeForce GT 240 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150451
I honestly can't remember what power supply or RAM was in it but the RAM was 8GB in 2GBx4 configuration.
The keyboard I had had since my old gaming laptop.
I first got the Cooler Master Hyper N520 from a friend and used some of his Arctic Silver to overclock the CPU to 3.8 GHz.
I wanted to be able to play Skyrim when it came out so I upgraded my graphics card to an Asus EAH6850 That I got at Micro Center for 149.99
I was able to play Skyrim ok but knew I needed a new motherboard and processor soon so I could play with even better graphics. So in summer of 12 I went to Micro Center and pick up the Kingston RAM, I5 3570K and Asus p8z77-v for right at $500.
My next upgrade was the tron mouse for $52 on Woot. and the Nostromo was on sale on Razer's website for 43.95 + free shipping. The Kingston SSD (which as worked like a charm the whole time I've had it) was after the Nostromo.
The Cooler Master 932 Advanced I bought retail at a local computer shop.
And finally this year I saw someone put the 660ti on Craigslist and I went to go get it. He was a really cool gamer and gave me a 560ti as well for my father in law to have! Epic Win on that!
Now I feel like I finally have something of my own that I put together piece by piece and can finally call my own build. :D
On a side note -----I was able to keep the temps so low because of Arctic Silver application and proper airflow throughout the case.
Lemme know if there is anything I could do to improve! Thanks!
BTW I have no idea why this reposted. Planning to build a new one soon.
