Description

Welcome to my PC Build, this is my 2nd personal build, and 4th overall build. This time I had a budget of only about $500, and I almost met it, but I got some crazy good deals that ended up saving me over $100, so I'm not too mad about going over the initial budget. I've had this build up and running for about three weeks now, as it's solely used for 1080p gaming. It crushes absolutely EVERY game I throw at it without a problem, I love it. Oh yeah, if you know what the title is referencing, high five :)

Part Reviews

CPU

First off, if you're debating on whether you should purchase this CPU or not, DO IT! This thing blew all of my expectations out of the water with it's INSANE performance. I can underrrstand why you may be reluctant to buy a Dual-Coure CPU, as was I. That being said, the single-core performance + hyperthreading makes this Processor an absolute steal for the price!

Motherboard

Picked it up for 59.99, and so far has given me zero problems. Looks pretty sleek, Red LED's are cool, I just hope I don't ever get them confused with Debug LED's. Overall great Motherboard if you can get it for about the same price as I did.

Memory

It's RAM. Has worked great for me thus far and the blue LED's are awesome! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING FOR DUAL-CHANNEL RAM THOUGH(2 sticks) I bought another separate 8GB stick so now I have 16 (:

Storage

My brother sold me this for $35, as he had an extra one still in the package. Couldn't resist such a deal. Every dollar saved counts! Has worked fantastic for me and shown zero problems.

Video Card

This thing is a monster. Looks great, stays cool, and truly unleashes it's power on games ESPECIALLY when overclocked. Picked this up for $199.99 on Cyber Monday but ended up getting away with it for 169.99 after mail in rebate! Barely any performance difference between this one and it's 6GB counterpart. GTA 5, BF1, and Fallout 4 all in the 45-60FPS range thanks to this workhorse.

Case

Cable management wasn't too much of an issue for me. The build went smooth as this case presented no problems. Also pretty small which helps for whenever I need to transport my PC.

Power Supply

Impulse buy from Best Buy. Cables look much nicer than EVGA's 80+ and 80+ Bronze cables. Has worked great for me so far. AND YES I KNOW THE PSU SHOULD BE UPSIDE DOWN BUT THE CASE WASN'T HAVING THAT FOR SOME REASON. No biggie though, my airflow and temps have remained stable :D

Operating System

Again, got a free copy from my brother. Thank god. I dig it.

Keyboard

Absolutely amazing keyboard for the money. I got this for roughly 40% off and I love it. From a former Blackwidow Chroma user, this thing feels great. The Cherry MX Red switches feel wonderful, yet not too quiet which makes me happy because I'm so used to the MX Blue sound. Macros work great and the volume control LED panel is a great touch. A perfect mix between the K95 and Blackwidow Chroma in my opinion.

Mouse

Huge mouse, thank God I have large hands. Feels good, and the weights included are a nice touch. That being said, the red LED on the scroll wheel that indicates which DPI profile you're on once the DPI button is pressed completely went out on me and no longer has that red glow. Not a big deal for me though, I love the feel and could care less about an LED. Would not recommend to someone with less than large hands, because this is one big mouse.

Headphones

Traded my old PS4 headset for my friends G230's. Great Trade. Nothing Special but the mic quality is decent and they do what they need to.

Your 1070 says 3GB twice in the parts list. 3GB + 3GB = 6GB anmmaright? That aside, this is a pretty good budget build, those deals were great.

You mean 1060, and it only has 3GB of VRAM

Wow, finally a good build that's fully costed, thank you and congrats! Does the stock cooler really handle the CPU that well?
