Update: I have updated the images by adding three pictures of the new desk I made using Douglas Fir and 1" steel square tubing. I am super happy with the way this new desk turned out.
Original Post: I just want to start by stating the name of this build is due to the amount of time I spent waiting to buy parts and waiting for them to arrive.
This build was months in the making as I first started researching back in August of 2017. I really wanted to back into PC gaming and so far it has been a great decision. I had to wait quite awhile to start buying parts as I recently got married and had a wedding to pay for. After things settled down, I was going to start buying parts and I noticed that the cost of graphics cards had completely skyrocketed. Luckily, I was able to snag one as soon as Newegg got a shipment in.
My Uses: As I mentioned above, I will be using this mostly for gaming among other things. Will be playing an assortment of AAA titles as well as LOL and Fortnight. Recently started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider (ROTR) and it handles that very well at max settings.
Benchmark Scores: I ran Cinebench and 3DMark to see how this machine handles on traditional benchmarking software. I also performed the ROTR benchmark tool. It scored as follows: Cinebench CPU: 1561 Cinebench OpenGL: 171.43 fps 3DMark - Time Spy 1.0: 7731 3DMark - Fire Strike 1.1: 19980 ROTR benchmark: 135fps
Summary: Overall, I am very pleased with the way this build has been working for me! I have been able to get 4.7GHz on the processor very consistently without ever worrying about temperature. I have noticed that it even hits 5.0GHz at times which is really great considering I haven't touched overclocking. I was originally going to go with air cooling, but my now father-in-law got me the liquid cooler as a Christmas gift. I am grateful for that as my temps have been nice and cool. The case was the most tormenting part of the whole build due to its delay in release which made me wait another week more than expected. It was worth the wait though because I love the way it looks.
Thank you for checking out my build!
Feel free to comment as this was my first build and I'm definitely open to improvement suggestions.
Fast and great at multitasking
Keeps my 8700k cool and looks great!
I really like the look and the BIOS is easy. Wish it had more than two USB 2.0 headers though
No complaints! Looks great and gives great graphics at high fps
Case is beautiful and pretty easy to build in. Only gripe is that Fractal and Newegg changed the release date by 8 days setting the build back more than a week.
