Description

My first build!

I always had a console growing up and never thought about having a PC for gaming. Mostly due to the fact that I thought PC's only played flash games.....Little did I know PC gaming was the pinnacle gaming experience. So I begun watching Youtubers such as JayzTwoCent, Bitwit & Paul's Hardware ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ect. And over the last 2 years I was learning about the different components and how they work. So from Q3 2017 to Q2 2018 I bought parts here and there. And finally 2 weeks ago I've put it together and I like how it operates so far. I'm very excited to be apart of the PC gaming community now!

Also, in my future upgrades I want to add another 8gb ram stick and replace my GTX 760 with a RX 470/570 8GB card since I have a Freesync monitor.

UPDATES

10/9/18: My GTX 760 died today RIP :(

10/18/18: I have a RX 580 now :)

12/10/18: I added a WD Blue SSD 500GB for my main game drive

3/30/20: I upgraded my Ryzen 3 1200 to a Ryzen 5 2600X, and upgraded ram from 2400 1x8GB to 2x8 DDR4 3200

Part Reviews

Motherboard

The heart of my build! I've never had a problem with this board. I'm modest with my overclocking so everything has been smooth. Going on 2 years with this mobo

Storage

I use this a s my game drive. It's not as fast asd the m.2 when I was using it as a game drive but it works well.

Storage

I use this as my boot drive, loads up windows quickly! no complaints at the moment

Video Card

This is my baby! I will probably keep this bad boy well into 2021. My first GPU ... it's sentimental

Case

This case is wonderful, I widh the price didn't triple for it. I would love to build another machine in this case.

Wireless Network Adapter

Works as intended

Monitor

This display makes my games look way better than on a TV, like waaay better....

I told my friend about that game after it came out and we both started playing it the same night. He told me the next day he had stayed up all night and finished the game. My sides ripped open xD.

Can't tell if you're a fan of... certain games, or into Japanese mythology. Either way I like your interests. +1

If you can hold out long enough, you might want to wait until 2019 for AMD's 7nm Navi GPU's. While we don't know anything concrete anything about them yet, they seem pretty promising.

Yeah I can wait if I have too. Right now I'm playing a bunch of older AAA titles I missed out on like the Mass Effect Trilogy, The Witcher Triolgy & Dead Space ect. So those should keep me busy.

Also do you know if Navi will be another Vega where they only release high end versions or will they have the budget variants

AMD will be releasing a 7nm Vega lineup, but Navi is coming before that. It's going to be priced similarly to AMD's current Polaris lineup, so from $100 all the way up to $250.

Love the black and bit of red color scheme. It'll look noticeably better if you tidy up the cables too.

I might do this same build ( possible with faster AMD ram) but besides that everything else seems really good.. Does the case come with fans? Cause if not ill add that to the build

Honestly, I think you'd be better off buying a better graphics card than a 470/570. It's not worth it for a 75hz monitor. Just my opinion though.

opinions are welcomed, I'm new to this. what would you recommend?

Prices are finally normalizing. Despite the fact that todays GPUs are several years old, who knows how long you'd have to wait for the next gen. If you were looking at those cards I'd suggest a 1060. Good 1080p card.

+1 re: the 1060, looks like a good choice. Just gonna leave this here- http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-RX-570-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/3924vs3639
