Description

I wanted the Shift for a long time but was hesitant because of cooling issues. I went and bought it anyway because it's so pretty. But they were right. This thing loves to retain heat. My GPU kept overheating ,causing my computer to freeze up. I thought I wasted my money but I still loved how the case looked. Then I thought, I could make the cooling better myself. So I decided to drill out a hole in the front panel where the bottom fan is. Man did that hole help! My GPU once would hit around 87c and freeze and now goes around 71c. But the case was kinda ugly now and there were scratches from drilling, etc... I enjoy making "theme builds" and I love Superman so I decided to go with him as the theme. I sanded it down and painted the front a metallic blue and the back a metallic red. Then the side filters I painted blue/red. I bought a white Phanteks 120mm fan for the bottom and put a Phanteks Halo on it for the RGB. The CPU side glass I used Armour Etch and a vinyl stencil to etch a Superman logo on to it.

All in all, I think it turned out great! I was even able to OC to 4Ghz stable on this CPU and stay in the upper 50' to mid 60's while gaming. Eventually I'd like to hollow out the Superman statue on top and make that the wifi antenna.

PS- I'm sorry the glass is smudgy. I promise I'll clean it! :P

Thanks! The back one on the red is just a gold vinyl decal. The front is a “premium” car decal. The side panel on the glass is etched into it. The one on the aio is a frosted decal so it absorbs the light and I disabled the NZXT logo. Eventually I’d like to make a custom Superman logo and put it inside replacing the NZXT one.

I was thinking about a Batman build someday too but I don’t know how I’d go about it. I’d probably do a black and gold Keaton style build. Maybe in the Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic and with all the open space make it like the Batcave or something. On the front glass I’d probably etch the Gotham skyline with a Batman standing on a gargoyle in the foreground with a bat-signal shooting a bar symbol to the middle of the glass. Then out some RGB strip around it the make it all glow. Dang now I want to make that! Haha

That'll be sick! I wish I knew how to etch, my PC would be sick.

Saw the Node 202 in 5th pic =). Did you upgrade to Shift from it?

In a way yes. I made that one a couple years ago as a Superman build but it wasn’t anything super special. It was just some stickers and a quick mod on cutting out the air filter over the motherboard and putting in an acrylic window with a Superman logo cut out for airflow. But it wasn’t painted or anything to make it stand out. The parts are different too except the psu.

Hi,

I´m looking to mount this similar PC of yours, but there´s something is bothering me.

How did you connect the Kraken M22 to the motherboard if there is only one internal USB in the Aorus B450?

Did you left the front panel USB unplugged?

Thanks for answering!

Hi there man,

I was wondering how you did manage to install one fan up front and the m22 on this motherboard

As I actually bought myself the m22 and this motherboard, I am missing one fan connector on the motherboard (the m22 use two as I can see) So the CPU fan and the SYS_Fan1 are both used, leaving no access to the upper fan header

So how did you managed to do it ?

Expecting to post my config soon
