Description

Hey Everyone, this is my 4th custom loop build and my 2nd sponsored one. First of all, I'm very grateful to: -Watercool (All waterblocks + Reservoir) -Ballistix (32Gb Tracer RGB + Crucial P1) -Lian Li (Cases) -Seasonic (Prime 750W Titanium)

This build was supposed to be ready last Autumn, but after encountering multiples problems (Dead motherboard, dead pump, the first brand of liquid I used gunked up my PC in a week, couldn't control my 2nd motherboard LED at all, etc..). I'm very happy this is done now.

This will be my last build for a while unless something happens, I'm focusing on repaying my student loan. This is why I went full ****** on it.

I'm using Threadripper because my girlfriend is doing some rendering, I'm doing Photography and I love being overkill. Why the Aorus more than any other X399 Motherboard? First reason is the aesthetic, to me, it's simply the most beautiful X399 Motherboard and it was fitting my build perfectly, I can't imagine a different motherboard there.

Storage configuration: I actually haven't used the 1Tb MX500, I don't think I'll need it. I'm using the 970 Evo as my main drive and the Crucial P1 500gb + Seagate 6Tb Ironwolf in a StoreMI configuration for storing my games. To my surprise, StoreMI is working as fast as a normal SSD, I cant feel the difference. For the other stuff, I already have a Freenas Server.

For the case, even though I'm sponsored, I would have still bought it. It's simply the most ingenious case I used in a while. It's larger than the usual case, but it has everything: airflow, aesthetic, cable management, the size. Kudos to Lian-Li for making this case.

RAM might not be the fastest for Ryzen, but I have them overclocked to 3000MHz. It's a little bit unstable in 3200Mhz and it was crashing once in a while.

Other Specs:

  • Keyboard: Glorious GMMK Keyboard + Aura Keycaps + Massdrop Halo Clear switches
  • Mousepad:Artisan Shidenkai Mid
  • Mouse: Logitech G Pro Wireless + Hotlines Mouse Skates
  • Speaker: Kanto YU3
  • Microphone: Yeti Blackout
  • Headphones; Currently Hifiman HE4XX, but Waiting on the Edition XX
  • AMP/DAC: Topping DX3

Cleanest build I've seen on here in a while. Awesome work, and congrats on the feature already! Can smell this one coming from a mile away. Grade A picture quality as well.

wowie, nice build, but why did you get 2 500gb and 1 1tb ssd rather than 2 1tb, also only 2666mhz :/

  • 2 points

970 Evo is my main Drive P1 500gb + 6Tb Ironwolf is in StoreMi configuration, I cant see the difference versus a normal SSD. I'm not using the 1Tb yet, think I'll give it to my girlfriend.

For the RAM, it's OCed to 3000Mhz, little bit unstable at 3200Mhz.

oh nice

Agreed on storage, although if there's a great deal you can save some cash by purchasing separate SSD instead of one solid 2TB, besides he might've bought/reused from older times. 2666mhz is optimal speed for 32GB and is fine, it can be a bit rough attempting to overclock 32GB to run 3000/3200mhz, even less at 64GB.

Elegant & simple. Someone deals in photography! :)

Thanks! Modding isn't my strong cup of tea and I love maximizing the most of each part by selecting each of them.

I'm not the best in Photography, I know the basic. For this set of pictures, I bought a $20 gray backdrop and some LED light, but I tried doing darker pictures this time for showing off more the blue.

  • 1 point

Amazing. I'm actually building a PC right now with similar components. Please tell me what black magic you used on your coolant to get that color blue.

Awesome build!!! How well does a threadripper run, Also I love the photography and the case. +1 and I call a feature

  • 2 points

Thanks, dude! Appreciated, Threadripper is amazing, you can throw it multiples stuff at times and it doesn't slow at all. I noticed the difference while editing this set of pictures versus my "old" R7 1700.

One of the few that I've seen that didn't skimp on the power supply.

Nice work

If this doesn't get a feature then I will lose all faith in humanity. Excellent build and great photos!

  • 1 point

Are you ready to lose faith haha?

Doesn't looks like I'll be featured.

  • 1 point

Omg really? That is absolutely crazy. One of the cleanest builds I've seen on here in months. No offense to the latest features, but this build takes the cake over a few of the more recent ones.

Def be proud though regardless, that thing is sick af, regardless of a feature!

  • 2 points

They still haven't change the feature since last Thursday. But they will probably go with a newer one for the features.

Nevertheless, thank you for the kind words!!

  • 1 point

You still have a very good shot! Regardless in the eyes of many this is already a feature. The fact you are sponsored is formidable proof you are a master. Excellent work!

oh. my god. What a monster of a build. Well done. I don't know much about liquid cooling, so pardon the ignorance, but I gotta ask...the shimmery blue liquid...it looks AMAZING. I was thinking about any kind of filtering or build-up with that fluid in your cooling system. Are there any issues regarding that?

  • 2 points

Thank you, My last one lasted 11 months, but they are recommending a cleaning each 6 months.

  • 1 point

Awesome! Does the shimmery fluid need cleaning more often than regular liquid? (I'm assuming water is "regular" liquid)?

Shoulda named it Zeus or Poseidon because that attention to detail is the work of a god.

First i want to say your build looks awesome.

Seeing builds like this makes me want to learn how to do a custom loop, but i know i dont have the patience for it, and i would screw it up, so i am looking a AIO future.... SO much credit to you for making a custom loop look so nice
