Description

My 2nd Major upgrade to my PC which was running flawlessly for many years, I added a water cooling AIO and little more stuffs to improve the performance .

With the Current Water cooled Overclocking Im getting 5.74 Ghz max on this CPU at 40-59C temp under load, so glad with the performance.

TRY OVERCLOCKING AT YOUR OWN RISK, IT CAN DAMAGE OR PERMENANTELY BURN YOUR COMPONENTS, DO PROPER RESEARCH BEFORE INITIATING IT

Task manger is unreliable for showing Proper GHZ. Your other screenshot shows the core speeds at 4.8ghz

You read it wrong man..

1 Your multiplier says x48 on the left, so it can only run at 4.8

2 You're at 2% utilization...

Good luck getting 5.7 without some serious LN2.

I have some questions: 1. How stable is that oc? 2. Is that all core? 3. What sort of voltage are you running at? 4. Actually what the hell, how did you do that? I'm calling BS on this, your multiplier shows 4.8, and the voltages required for 5.7 are far too high for ambient cooling. I don't care how good of a golden chip you got, that just isn't possible.

the big task manager text says it's at 4 Ghz but then below it it says 4.8Ghz and then to the left of that it's 5.7Ghz???

Aside from the mistake of being on 4.8 instead of 5.74.. Your GPU is sagging a lot and you might want to consider tightening the screws holding it to the case while pressing upward slightly. If that doesn't work then I would buy a support bracket. Looks like you are putting a lot of strain on that slot.

the 5.7 ghz must be a boost clock, and the base is 4.8. The 4 ghz at the top of task manager is the clock that CPU comes with I think. That means under load the 5.7 ghz drops at higher temps.

Base clock on the 4790K is 4.0ghz. Max turbo is 4.4?? Something like that. I think 5.7 is kind of stretch at the moment. Keep in mind that 1 core turbo vs. 4 core turbo. I think 4.4ghz is when only one core turbos. I think if it was 4 cores trying to turbo, I think each would be closer to 4.0ghz.

That’s not a possible overclock and you know it. I can’t get a delidded i7 that naturally has a higher clock rate than yours to go to 5.3 even. I don’t think anyone really gets to 5.7 even with water cooling. So learn to be honest on this sight cause otherwise it annoys people
