Description

Built this system as a graduation present for myself and to replace my aging laptop. Yes, it was pretty pricey, but I needed everything including all peripherals.

Wanted to game and stream at 1080p/60fps and this machine does it all with ease.

I've built computers before but this was the first time in about 10 years and I was surprised at how easy it has become.

Everything went together without a hitch but I later realized that I put on too much paste and had to reseat the cooler. Fully modular PSUs are awesome, but my favorite part about the new build is the SSD. Cold booting to the desktop in under 10 seconds is intoxicating.

I've overclocked the i7 to 4.6GHz at 1.231V and boosted the GPU by +100/+100. I bet I could get to 4.8 pretty easily but don't want to push it right now.

This is pretty neat. It should do nicely for a couple years|

That's the goal! I tend to hold on to hardware a bit longer than I probably should lol.

What games are you pushing it with?

Currently, Dota 2 and AAA titles 1-2 years old. I was hoping to play GTA5 on it.... if it ever gets released.

How much CPU Cooler clearance is there in the Define R5 with the Noctua NH-D14? I was thinking about getting the Noctua NH-D15 with the same case, but I wasn't sure if it would fit.

Plenty of room. I want to say at least an inch and that's being very conservative. Not sure if the D15 is much taller but even then it would still fit.

Thanks for the information. I think I will get the D15 then :)
