Description

Well after my 5 years old msi laptop started having hard time i decided to have a new system. The idea of gaming in the living room from the comfy couch was always tempting in the favor of consoles. But controlers for fps games? 30 fps with 4k? Why a system only for gaming?

So i was exploring the idea of having a pc + 4k tv set up where you can have basically everything. i started hunting for a case suitable to use in the living room and found out about this beauty!

This is my first build so i did fair share of watching/reading about the case and possible setups. I came across with a lot of people facing problems with cooling and limited airflow.

With those concerns in mind i selected zotac mini 1080gtx with similar performance vs its bigger competitors which enabled me to use corsair h80i v2 with both fans installed push-pull style. I added 1 140m noctua fan as an exaust instead of stock fan and placed the stock fan as an intake to lower front panel. With a smaller gpu, there is actually enough space for healty airflow. Got 53c max with cpu stress test and 61c for gpu..

Im more than satisfied with this setup, just placed the case horizontaly under the tv(sony 55’xe900). It doesnt look like a computer case at all. Now i use it to watch movies/series. 4k gaming with keyboard and mouse set or use console controlers to play suitable games. Its absolutely beautiful!

It is my first build and im open to all suggestions:)

+1 (applause) you sir built what I am planning to build with a few months except using coffee lake variant i5 and with this same case because it is gorgeous and doesn't look like a PC at all. Also i approve this non-overclocked build as I would not be overclocking mine as well! Good JOB!!

does the h80i need a usb 2 header to work? if so how did you get around this?

No it doesnt need it to function. My motherboard doesnt have usb 2 header so i just didnt use it. If you connect it you can monitor the water flow and such which makes little sense to me. I know alot of people just dont use it

Working on my Shift build right now, looking good man. I might suggest you check out the fairly new Logitech G613. I believe its one of the only legitimate wireless mechanical keyboards out right now. I plan on switching to couch mode sometimes myself for single player stuff. Builds looks nice and great pics. Your temps are nice. I ordered 3 Noctua 140's maybe thats over kill? I see your getting really good temps for this case with your setup

Well i have a crappy wireless keyboard atm, which gets the job done with some flaws:) ı will check g613 out thanx!.

What kind of cooling setup you are building? Where will you put the 3th fan? I ordered two noctua 140s for this, ı used 1 only cuz 2nd one was wrong delivery so i had to return it for a change( didnt arrive yet). If you have 3 fans+ watercooling it might be overkill:). Yet again they are noctua fans, which can last for an other setup.
