An update to my previous build, i was able to sell the RX 470 for a little over $300 thanks to the mining craze and snagged the EVGA 1070 from EVGA's B stock for $300 shipped. I went ahead and added an m.2 slot because this board only comes with 4 SATA ports and i hated having one slot taken up by the Bluray drive. Speaking of which i moved to the smaller Silverstone KL06B case which i am absolutely in love with. Temps are higher under load but the components can handle it.
Added a 5 port USB 3.0 card for VR in the future and an uninterruptible power supply i snagged from work. All in All i am 100% satisfied with this build. The 1700 does everything i want at stock clocks, the 1070 does Ultra at 1080p flawlessly and 16gb is the new standard for PC building IMO. Speaking of RAM, this kit is rated 3200mhz but i cannot get stable over 2666mhz, considering buying a more compatible kit but RAM prices are just too high right now so i will live with 2666mhz until the prices come down.
I did remove the silly metal stickers from the motherboard heat sinks, come on MSI, i'm 33 not 13.
8 cores, 16 threads and at 65w TDP, what else could i want?
Best damned cooler I've ever used, keeps my CPU cool under load, so much so i could use this cooler passively.
4 SATA ports, silly metal stickers on the heat sinks, but it does have an m.2 slot and a reinforced PCI slot.
Cannot get it to 3200mhz. on my build, my fault for not checking the compatibility list on the motherboard manufacturers website.
Fast and cheap, like my first car
Faster and cheaper than my second car
good balance of fast storage and price IMO
Fastest and coolest GPU I've ever used, perfect for 1080p Ultra on everything so far.
Small, compact, well thought out and well built case. Better have good cooling as the whisper quiet fans in the front don't push a ton of air.
Modular, quiet, no complaints.
I paid too much for this and don't use it enough but damn i just can't let it go.
Best version of Windows to date
Gorgeous colors, good size, no complaints.
Does what it's made to do and has a nice readout of your current wattage draw.
I pretty much stole this because someone made a mistake on the GameStop website, that being said it was worth every penny that i should have paid.
No complaints, works well, easy to install, black PCB, everything i wanted for a great price.
