Wow guys what a build. To give you guys a bit of back story on this. I've been planning this for months and finally got my fiance to approve this about two weeks ago. So I ordered all the parts between Amazon and Newegg (caught a few deals). I also order some parts from Performance-PCs.
-Starting out I've got my i7-6700K and goodness it's nice. After coming from gaming PCs with the AMD FX processors it's like "A whole new world!" Damn my fiance is rubbing off on me. It's been great and overkill for my PC gaming but it was like ehhhhh why not? I haven't overclocked it yet but I hope to hit and be stable at the 4.5GHz range.
-Cryorig R1 Universal- My god this is big. I knew it was going to be but DAMN! The fedex guy was like "this is a big box you have here" while my fiance glaring in the back of my head. It's great it was hell installing it because I didn't read the instructions at first but Yolo!
-ASRock Z170M Extreme4- I've always been a big fan of ASRock so I had to have another for my lovely new lady and it works great I don't have any issues so far. I'm not a fan of the fact that there is only 2 case fans that can be plugged in but that is fine I came prepared.
-G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB DDR4-3200- More than I'll need in speed and plenty of GB for gaming so I'm happy. Plus G.Skill has always been a good brand to go with and it shows it here too.
-Sandisk SSD PLUS- Yes I only got 240GB but I was working with a $1200 budget which I couldn't go over and I don't need a crap ton of space to begin with. I do plan on adding more so don't freak out but this is plenty to start.
-XFX Radeon R7 370- Don't get me wrong with the rest of this setup I could easily done better but I bought this months ago for my old build. I also plan on upgrading this once AMD releases some better graphics cards but it does fine for me now. I've been playing lots of Elite: Dangerous, Total War: Warhammer, Beamng Drive, XCOM 2, and Grip. Most of the time I'm getting anywhere between 40-120 fps depending on the game.
-Thermaltake Core V21- When I got it I was like "Hmmm it seems almost too big for MATX" but as I was building it it was plenty for what I needed. I did take out the HDD cage for additional space for cable management. Oddly enough I should have kept it in there because I did put a HDD for my boot drive so that I could use my SSD for my game library. It's looks great and considering that it sits under the TV it works for me.
-XFX 550W- This was the rough part (if you know what I mean ;) jk). I was in a debate with myself if I really needed anything over 600W because with future graphics cards that won't be needed unless you are Crossfire/SLI'ing which I won't do. After going to several different sites to check what my overall wattage would be I found that have a 500/600W would be more than enough for what I needed even if I OC'ed some. After that I decided to go with a XFX because I like to stick to certain brands that relate to each other (I'm OCD like that). It works like a charm and it has a normal and hybrid mode which is pretty neat to have.
-Intel 7260HMWDTX1- I was really worried that this wasn't going to be that great because I couldn't find much other than on Amazon for this in reviews. But that is gone because this works like expected no issues here it picks up my WiFi perfectly and it has Bluetooth which is nice to have.
-Thermaltake CL-F038-PL12WT- You would think they have a better name than that on here but whatever. It's great to see on the front of the case. You will only see two but I bought five and that was because with the Power Distribution PCB - 6-Way Block I forgot to get a two ended female connector to the MB. So I have to wait for that to come in before I get the other three in there.
-Mad Catz Strike M & Rat M- Now when I got the keyboard I was instantly disappointed because it is really small way too small for me so that was wasted. But on the up side the RAT M is great I've never been fond of wireless mouses because the ones I've used in the past always disconnected but with this I haven't had an issue yet. "I'm lovin' it!"
-Glorious Extended Gaming Mouse Mat- It's big (that's what she said :O). But in all seriousness it's plenty to put a full size keyboard and mouse with space to spare. Of course I loved the email that I got just a few days ago. "Hey! Just wanted to reach out to thank you for being a GLORIOUS customer, and being part of the PC Gaming Race legion! I just want to know if you are happy with your recent order, and if you had any concerns or comments related to the mouse mat? Also, it would be super helpful if you can tell me how you came across the Glorious Mouse Mat/Pad, and what prompted you to buy our product? Thanks again, and may your frame rate be mighty, and your draw distance far! Michael Glorious PC Gaming Race LLC"
-BitFenix Essentials Pro Pack - White- I'm pissed off over this I was expecting everything to work great when I got it. Hell I even email their customer care team to make sure that it would work with my PSU and it would start up with it on. When I finally figured it out I was "IT'S ALIVE!" but soon after got ticked off and email them the issue and I still haven't hear back yet.
Overall give me your thoughts, concerns, comment in the lovely space below. (Don't jack off to my pictures now.) It was fun to build and I'm happy to have a PC that is more than capable to handle new games. Don't get mad at my PS4 sitting nearby I barely touch it anymore so I'm not a full traitor (or am I). If you have questions you can either comment below or message me personally I don't care I'll reply back as soon as I'm able. Thanks for checking this out!
AWESOME! Overkill for gaming but YOLO!
"What a big cooler you have there young one"
MMMMM! That price tho and those features damn bro!
It's RAM. It's Fast. And it's Furious.
It's does what I ask. Like my fiance JK JK. Little small but good for boot drive/game library if it is small.
Decent for 1080p doesn't run every game on high/ultra but for less than $200 I'm not complaining.
I'm Lovin' It!
Ohhhh! I feel so professional! Easy way to get Windows 10 Pro without spending the extra $80.
Wireless Network Adapter
Great for I need it for and I've got it mounted on the wall! On the Wall Carl!
Look at that ring! It's soooo pretty!
Works like a charm. Wish I had gotten one sooner.
