Description
As soon as I saw Noctua's announcement about a partnership with Asus to make a GPU, I knew I had to get one because I had been wanting to do a Noctua build for quite some time. Unfortunately, scarce availability and inflated pricing made it impossible to buy one, but I was incredibly fortunate to take advantage of a local trade and the rest is history.
My PBO settings are an all-core -20 voltage curve and limits of 100 PPT, 80 TDC, and 100 EDC. For GPU settings, I'm running +130 core and +600 VRAM.
For testing, I ran Unigine Heaven and Superposition as well as 3DMark Fire Strike and Time Spy benchmark tests, which gave me the maximum temperatures and the clock speeds. I then let my PC sit on the desktop with no programs open or running in the background for about 20 minutes to get the idle temperatures.
Be sure to check out my other builds and take a look at my matching Noctua themed keyboard using the KBDfans Tiger Lite!

CPU
The 5800X3D runs a bit hot even with an ideal cooling setup and healthy airflow, but for gaming performance it beats out everything except for the latest and greatest. The king of AM4 will reign for a while longer.
CPU Cooler
Bigger is better, right? Even with strong competition from cheaper alternatives, I believe the NH-D15 to still be an excellent choice for air cooling, provided the case it will reside in has enough real estate. The size can be somewhat of an inconvenience, but the outstanding thermal and especially acoustic performance more than make up for it. It's like a gentle summer breeze.
Thermal Compound
I'm no thermal paste professional, but the MX-4 is one of my favorites. It's affordable, very easy to spread, and seems to work great. The 4g tube is more than enough without being excessive.
Motherboard
This is the motherboard to get if you need AM4 and want everything you'll need and nothing you won't. An industry-leading BIOS is the cherry on top! I just wish it had one more PCIe slot for m.2 SSDs...
Memory
The go-to for DDR4 memory! This kit works great with the DOCP on my STRIX B550-F motherboard and the heat spreaders are just short enough to fit below the NH-D15 without having to adjust the fan position.
Storage
Considering the current market, the SN750 is not a good buy anymore. However, it has been rock-solid reliable for me over the past couple of years and is more than fast enough for anyone not doing file-intensive tasks. My only regret is not getting two or going for the 2TB model.
Case
This case is truly amazing. It comes with three 4-pin PWM case fans pre-installed and wired to a fan controller with a speed switch on the front I/O. Everything about the materials and assembly of the case exudes quality, and I don't think I've ever handled a case so sturdy and solid. Such premium build does not come without a catch, however, and as such this case is remarkably heavy even when empty. Thermal performance is excellent thanks to the generous mesh coverage.
Power Supply
I have put this PSU through two PCs over the past few years and it's not showing any signs of age. High quality build, quiet fan, and steady power output. This unit is money well spent!
Case Fan
I bought two of these to use on my NH-D15 chromax.black, replacing the included black fans. Show the world those beautiful beige/brown colors! Performance is nothing short of excellent.
Case Fan
I bought four of these to use as case fans so I could maximize the beige/brown theme. Performance is nothing short of excellent.
