Description

Hey everyone! My first build is finally done.

Haha I love that I could finally get a good PC with 6 cores now because Ryzen is out. I'm gonna be using this thing for both workloads like editing and gaming, so we'll see how that goes. I bought most of the stuff off Amazon, but I bought some off Newegg and the 970 off Ebay as well.

Part Reviews

CPU

EDIT
The motherboard is super weird, and it seems like the AMD Ryzen Master actually does stuff, because now I have about 1200 in Cinebench at 3.825 GHz, compared to the 400 I was getting at 4.4GHz. IDK what's going on, but whatever.

CPU Cooler

This thing is pretty quiet and looks nice too. Even better than in the photos haha. Btw, if it goes in askew, you can tilt it straight without taking anything off.

Thermal Compound

I only bought 'cause I didn't know the H7 came with thermal paste. Either way it had good ratings, so I guess that's ok. I don't really have much to compare against.

Motherboard

It looks nice so I'll start with 5 stars. -1/2 for that stupid GPU LED -1 and 1/2 for Click Bios 5. The RAM stays at 2133 MHz no matter what I do, I've tried almost everything basic. What is going on with the overclocking?!

Memory

Eh, it's RAM. What can I say.
I can't OC this past 2133MHz no matter what I do.

Storage

Quite fast. The sticker's pretty ugly, but that's pretty easy to remove.

Video Card

Is this thing supposed to have LEDs? Mine doesn't, but I don't know if it's supposed to have LEDs or not. Whatever. Gets +615MHz in afterburner.

Case

Looks nice for $70, and makes cable management pretty easy. Tempered glass gets smudged pretty easy though.

Power Supply

The 28?-pin cable is hard to twist, and the CPU 6-pin was a pain in the a**. Also the GPU cable is loopy-doop with the extra 2-pins, and that looks super ugly. Got this refurbished at Frys for about $37.

Case Fan

The LED's look really nice and cool pretty well.

Case Fan

Same thing as the SP120's.

Keyboard

Keyboard is pretty clicky and nasty, but the mouse is nice. Got this for $17 on a lightning deal randomly on Amazon.

Custom

Eh, it's alright. I had it lying around and I didn't factor in the cost of a monitor.
Resolution: 1680x1050 @ 60Hz, 16:10

Custom

Small and shuts off pretty occasionally, but this is my second monitor, so I don't really care as much.
Note: I took the photos before this was on my desk.
Resolution: 1280x1024 @ 60Hz

Dude, I don't mean to be the bringer of bad news, but you need to stress test that CPU, 4.4 is absolutely unheard of on Ryzen, and especially at such a low voltage. I'd suggest Prime95.

This. I'm 3.7 Ghz on 1.28 R5 1400.

I stress tested it for 2hrs with Aida64 Extreme.

Ideally, you should run a stress test for 6 hours or more.

I heard that 2-3 was alright, but I'll run it soon.

I ran it for 3.5 hrs but any more might have put too much heat on the CPU and killed it. I'm already past the return period. Besides there is no way 3.5 isn't enough. It's more than enough.

That's why it didn't over heat. Because the mobo sucks *** and doesn't overclock for anything

Wow. This message gave me a weird closure that I never knew I needed. I'm glad you figured out what was happening!

Do the Cryorig H7 cpu cooler came with AM4 bracket out of the box? i'm planning to buy this cooler soon.

No, you have to order a bracket from the site after you get your cooler and B350/X370 motherboard. Unless you bought the Asus Crosshair VI Hero, which has AM3 support.

I reversed the other side, so I think it's ok.

I'm actually thinking about building this for my little brother, it's somewhat similar to the build that was completed on my page. The price is nice and he only plays minecraft lol

Also if he only plays Minecraft, you should really just get him a R3 1200/1300x paired with an A320 board with something like a used 2GB GTX 770.
