Description

Freshly built! Yes I'm a noob at this, tell me what ya think. Previous computer just didn't cut it any longer. Decide to make the jump and build one myself. I first went to one of those sites where you build your own pc and then they make it and send it to you - Bad idea! Price went up real quickly and parts weren't that powerful. This PC will be used for Mechanical Engineering Autocad, Reddit, and Skyrim, Call of Duty and many others.

Alright, guys CPU Temp at idle is at 37.5 degrees, won't go beyond 38. Yes it's not Noctua but it does the job and it looks good doing it!

Update!!9/21/13 I have gotten the cpu temps to 32 degrees. I updated all kinds of drivers!

Which would I prefer? A Coke or V8?

(Hitting head) Of course, a V8!

Nice build. +1

I dunno though, that coke looks really awesome... Hmmm I would take the V8, sell it, buy a coke, then buy computer parts... :D

You sell the V8, buy a few cases of coke, chips and salsa. Then call up some buddies and throw a killer LAN party.

How long did it take to save up this much money?

Couple of weeks, a lot of overtime and had to convince my wife this was a necessary purchase lol.

I loved how clean it looked! It's probably that massive case you got there. +1!

Thanks, the case is enormous. I could have easily chosen a mid tower case but my jaw dropped when I saw Storm Stryker. And I'm not even to fond of white!!! They also come in black but white looks very elegant. I guess also because I'm a big Star Wars Fan lol.

Perfect! I hope that processor is GREAT for you. I bought an 8350 because I saw newer games leaning slightly to them. But there is so little difference between them I hope I didn't make a bad choice. And I think Sparky was saying you could have bought a 760, as it is pretty comparable to the 670.

~M.

P.S. I did the same thing, I looked at Magic Micro for parts, and they were pretty cheap compared to other assembly places, but then I found this one. And let me tell you I learned a nice amount about computers along the way.

Sweet build. Love the case. my 1st build will use the same case. How is the Z87 Extreme 4 motherboard working for you? I am undecided on a motherboard fr my build.

The Asrock Z87 seems to be purring like a kitten, has a lot of cool features.

If i were your wife i would have slapped you. NON NEGOTIABLE! Way to convince her to buy the parts, I'm guessing you're going to give her a new wedding ring soon?

For 1300 bucks? She should ask for some mikimoto pearls... Or so my wife just said over my shoulder.

Blazing fast, my computer boots up very fast. Haven't timed it but it seems like 15 sec. Shutting off is like 5 seconds! Not kiddin, I will try and time it when I get a chance.

Nice build! Did you have any issues with clearance using that cooler with the Corsair Vengeance Ram?

  • 1 point

Not at all, I did show pictures of the cooler not touching the Ram

I'm so psyched you built this with that case and cooler.

I really wanted to use those in my next build and I was really worried with clearance issues thanks!

DUDE WOULDNT IT LOOK SICK IF THE COOLER WAS IN THE BLACK STORM TROOPER W/ WINDOW? (Its the same as the stryker but black). the red cooler would complement the black/red theme of the trooper very well I believe.

Almost 1/2 way to a good 780. I would have saved a little longer and gotten one, but overall a nice build. Would like to see a full view pic of the entire inside.
