+ Total (United States):
This is my first build since 1996 - IDE drives, 100W power supplies, serial ports, case fans... sure the power supply has one that's all you need. Yep pretty much everything I knew was obsolete.
I wanted a new Gaming/Blu-ray ripper/Plex Server Rig to replace a Mac Mini. This was a big jump up in power but it was super important to me that it be as quiet as the Mini or at least close. This sits at my desk right next to our home theater set up and I wanted it whisper quiet. Thankfully I succeeded at that.
This thing is pretty great once installed. I saw it recommended on SilentPCreview.com. It was a little annoying to install but not terrible. You'll want a very long #3 Phillips screwdriver for one. One of my back plate screws was very poorly manufactured and cross threaded and didn't want to screw in. I had to work really hard to get it go in and stay straight. Once I got it the rest was ok but it is challenging to to balance the two sides of the tensioning plate.
One I got it init works great. It's very quiet and run cool. I have the fan running at the quietest mode and the processor cores stay well under 70C usually under 50C. The price is right and it's quiet.
Nice paste with better directions on how to do it right than you find online.
Pretty happy with the features vs the price but you should know a couple things. Overall I like it
Pros - Install was easy and the board is well laid out with a small exception for one m.2 slot - I really like the Thunderbolt for the future. - The LED on the IO ports is great for plugging in ports - The sound chip is cool and sounds great with my nice speakers but the headphone has a small buzz - The software fan controls at lowest settings are very quiet and still runs cool - Two m.2 slots and both PCIx4, I get 15 Gb/s not 32 but it's still fast
Cons - Bios is outdated and poor and don't download the new F20 or it will mess you up, apparently it's just for Kaby Lake. - Windows software is buggy. The OSD doesn't work and it reminds me about updates but doesn't list them or make it so you can download them. I can find them anywhere but the popups continue! - The first m.2 slot blocks off an entire row of SATA, four SATA gone - The second m.2 loses your 3rd PCIe 16
Nice and fast. I get 15 GB/s not 32 but still great
I owned this already. It's a great drive.
Pretty good but I still can't run BF1 or Witcher 3 on ultra settings with out a jerkiness to the motion. This could be entirely the fault of the 3440x1440 60 Hz monitor.
I love, love, love this case. The blackout is cool but does make install harder because its like looking into a black hole. It runs soooo quiet with my setup and the airflow keeps all my temps nice a low.
Cable routing is fantastic as is the build quality.
Con - The only small thing is that the back panel screws are very similar but different and incompatible with the front panel lock screws. As long as you don't mix them up like I did it's fine.
I actually bought the Platinum Certified for 139 but couldn't manage to change it here.
Great built quality. i love the modular woven cables. It's super quiet.
I'm only getting 2x blu-ray read speeds for rips which is disappointing. I don't know if it's the drive or motherboard but others complain about it too.
The price vs features is the best for me. It looks and works great. The PIP is great to have for the mac on the desk too. The only thing this is missing over the Acer Predator X34 is the 60 Hz vs the Predator 144 Hz but it's $450 less.
Pros - 3440x1440 Ultrawide is awesome, looks great - PIP - The USB ports are great and provide enough power to an iPad!!! The mobo can't do this.
Cons - 60 Hz though I've hear it can be overclocked to 80 I haven't tried yet.
Nice but difficult, buggy software. Any time I touch a single setting on the keyboard or mouse the mouse lighting stops working. It's a know bug. I found a older build batch of these on sale at Microcenter. It has the cooler old logo but the problem. Updating the firmware and software has not helped.
See the notes above about buggy firmware/software for the Corsair gear.
