I built this atrocity for a school project. That should explain the weird selection of parts. I got the APU 'cause it was cheap and I could show it off as a newer solution for graphical processing. For my deddidated WAM I just went for the cheapest and fastest 8 Gig. two piece set I found. Also the heat spreaders look real nice so that will definitely help my presentation. I just HAD to go with an SSD to be able to show off the new technology and speed. Actually got it for 30 USD from BestBuy so anything else would have been out of the question anyway. The case is literally a box to put everything in, I dunno why people overspend on these things. I got mine for 25 USD and it has a 120mm fan in the front to keep everything cool, best mATX box 2016 imo. I straight went overkill on the PSU, could have gotten the more reasonable 400w for 5 USD less but I decided that would be pretty stupid. The mobo keeps everything together and works, also the cheapest FM2+ so this one was the best logical option.
This is my first build so I might have not chosen what you would have given the circumstances. It's ok to criticize (constructive or not), one could only learn. All the money spent on this thing was my own, I'm an unemployed teen (parents don't give me money either) so it hit me hard having to spend like 263 USD on this *** of a school project. I'll probably sell this thing after I present it. Regardless I feel confident in my decisions and proud in my minuscule achievement.
If you're looking to build something similar for gaming I did play a bit of Rust and some more CS:GO. Rust ran at about 20fps on 1024 x 768 with everything turned all the way down. CS:GO never ran bellow 40fps with the same settings as Rust. I did this with the RAM overclocked to 2400. Also this is running on Ubuntu 15.10 because I didn't want to spend more for windows. Before I sell it I'll install Windows 10 PRO and benchmark other games for those curious enough.
very ok APU, does good for me. Would pair with good ram for best time.
Keeps everything together and works! Great value I think.
Cheep, cool looking, and fast. I like this RAM so far.
Stupid fast, I don't even know why this speed is even practical.
Great box! Has everything you need for the price you pay. Front fan keeps everything cool.
I feel safe knowing that my home won't burn down any time soon.
