Description

Updated my 2700X build after much deliberation on what to go with next. The 2700X served me well for a while but i decided it was time for an upgrade. I purchased a 3900X, 32gbs of 3600MHZ Trident Z Neo RAM and a ASUS Crosshair Hero Viii motherboard to complete my updated build. Was a very easy swap over as the P600s is a big case with plenty of room to move around in. After a slight issue with some BIOS settings i was on the way and running smoothly. Have managed to get a stable 4.4GHZ all core OC at 1.352v. Runs like a dream and haven't had an issue with it since.

CPU: Went for the Ryzen 9 3900X, Has run without a hitch so far, at a 4.4GHZ all core O/C running at an idle temp of roughly 43 degrees has been fantastic. Very happy with my choice

GPU: Pretty happy with the 2080, wish i could of afforded to jump up to a 2080ti but just couldn't cover that extra gap, a very solid card and been great for my uses.

Ram: Running the new Trident Z Neo 32GB/3600MHZ. Been great so far no issues

Storage: Bit of a mixed bag with storage. Pulled the 850 Evo and the 1tb Seagate out of a previous PC and added the M.2 and 4tbs of HDD.

Case: My favourite part of the whole build. The Phanteks P600s is a ripper of a case. Build quality is fantastic, loads of space and very easy for a noob like me with cable management. It looks great and i love it in white, I also ran Cablemod sleeved cables throughout the case for that extra appeal.

Cooling: Went the full Corsair treatment with a H100i Platinum SE and 4 LL120 white fans. RGB is solid and fans have been good.

Motherboard: Upgraded to the Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII. Apart from a few little hiccups due to the old BIOS when first put togther the board has been great. Does everything i could ask of it and more

Monitors: Used my old Phillips 32" as a second screen and brought a 32" AOC Curved 144hz 1440p screen. Great so far

Keyboard: Choose the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum, cant fault it. Keys feel nice and strong and are quiet enough as well

Mouse: Cant beat a classic with G502 Hero

Clean build! Love the white and black. +1 How's the case as far as temps? Is there a noticeable difference with just the mesh exposed on top/front panel?

Thanks heaps! There is a slight difference with the panels on, I found it slightly better with just the top panel off. I prefer the look of the chassis with both panels off and it’s better cooling so I just stick with that

I agree, I think it looks great without the panels on. My current build needs a new home, this might just be the one. Thanks!

I love this build man. I am planning on building almost the exact same with only a few slight cosmetic differences... Has the 3900x been running smooth with the corsair ecosystem?

Thanks mate! And yeah havent had to many issues, i have the pump set to balanced power curve and the fans are all on a custom curve so it doesnt get to loud. After being stress tested for an hour the temps peaked at 87c so i was pretty happy with that.

Really nice! Did you use any sort of rgb controller? I’m thinking of buying a whole bunch of Corsair LL120 fans but it’s just so confusing...

I have both a Corsair Commander and a lighting node pro. Wiring it up was a bit of a pain but it works really well now it’s done

I got the 4 sticks for $100 from a friend who decided against using them so that’s mainly the reason
