Description

Hey everyone i have finally completed my new build. After months of saving and part shopping for the best deals i could find this is my final result. I spent about 2 weeks slowly painting the Thermaltake View 71 TG case from black to white as the case only comes in black. The GPU back plates i painted as well white and added the MSI dragon Decal that i purchased off eBay for 5$ each. This was a very slow process for the build as i was trying to not rush anything. I am still working on training the GPU cables with cable comes like i have for the 24 Pin and the 8 PIN. Here are some pictures of the build process and the final result let me know what you guys think. As for the back side i am not sure if i could manage the cables any other way as having 10 fans creates tons of extra wires and then having to use 2 fan controller boxes connect them together and then run them to the motherboard. I am also still working on the desk cable management i ordered a metal raceway that i am going to mount on the back support bar of the desk to run everything through so when that comes i will be addressing that as well as a Vesa mount for the 3 monitors to get them off the desk and make it feel less cluttered. I also have a new SLI bridge that i am currently painting from MSI that has the red dragon led aswell to match

I love the look! Get some 1440p monitors and use those 1080s to their full capabilities.

beardedmisfit 2 Builds 2 points 7 months ago

This is a slick build! Gorgeous build, and nice custom loop!

k4p741nkrunch 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Outstanding! I like what you did with the tube going over the RAM, just kinda bumped it out a little bit.

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Candy cane!!!

Sure you hope your LLC is set to turbo or more lol, that was the deal breaker for my 5ghz OC. without it, it would crash randomly, with it, purring like a kitten since :)

+1

AlexDMV 1 point 10 months ago

Jeez. Talk about a stacked build. Nice man. The only thing I would recommend is cable management. Your build would look 20 times better if the cables were tucked away in a raceway or something like that. I recommend what Evil_Paroxysm said. It would help out a ton.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Yes still working with the wires i just set it up on the desk and the cable management on the back of the case is about as good as it is going to get with how the 2 fan controllers are laid out

Slingshott 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I call a feature once your description gets more detail.

Slingshott 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Edit: I told you so!

customgtp 23 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

This is an amazing build! Absolutely gorgeous. A build like this could use some high quality pictures

customgtp 23 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Glad you put up better and more pics!! Now it's a feature!! That coolant is a beautiful shade of red.... Like Kool aid..... I have a white with red accent build and I hear candy cane a lot and I hate that!

What is the coolant?

Beautiful build and congrats on a feature!!

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

It is ek cyrofuel blood red and thanks !

GG_Essence 1 point 10 months ago

Favorite part about the build is the SAO background

seanbarkley 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Simply stunning dude! Love the white-red theme.

PrivatePengu 1 point 10 months ago

Maybe put some cable combs on the GPU PCI-E power cables, because those look a bit unattractive. Also, why not get one 1080 TI instead of 2 1080'ies? Anyway, incredibly nice looking build. +1

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Yes working with cable combs right now training up cables. and went with 2 1080s due to getting a deal on them with the current GPU pricing. actually got those for msrp! 2 1080tis would of jumped me up another 700$

BetrayedPredator 1 point 10 months ago

There isn’t a single reason for two 1080s, going for a single 1080ti would have made more sense and been less of a headache.

SLI is dying and I’m guessing it’s going to disappear soon, it’s a massive headache with nets very little gains

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I could have done a single I did it for the Aesthetics you're right there is very little gains compared to what they're used to be with running SLI I did it got the look of it and I got those for msrp not the inflated 1200 for one 1080ti

Adrew24 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

So beautiful...

blockbuster4664 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Just wondering why you went with three of that specific monitor? They look quite expensive for the stats so idk if u were going for looks or if u had them. I have a 144hz 1080 that cost 100$ less than those.

But still this is a fantastic build, it looks amazing

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Hey i actaully bought those monitors for 75$ each im not sure why the price on part picker is so high but i found them from amazon on sale and picked up all 3 for for 225$

blockbuster4664 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Oh okay, good that it’s just Pcpp pricing being messsed up, that’s a sweet deal tho.

Houndour 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Who the heck does this. You’re a mad man. This is amazing! I actually don’t mind the organised chaos of the cables some comments are criticising you about. I think they add to the build and present the image that it’s a living thing. This project must have taken you forever.

Hoping to see a detailed write up or summary of how this was completed.

Stunning work man.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Yes going to work on the details and post the rest of my pictures from the build process been collaborating them all together.

MrThreePik 10 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Holy Zeus' Beard! The View TG is one hell of a beauty.

stunt-monkey 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

You seem to have the flow through the CPU block the wrong way around??? How are your temps?

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Yes I noticed this last night and drained and re orientated it when I was bending tube I switched it up BC it loomed cleaner and forgot to flip the block . all fixed now ! Thank you for noticing asw well as I did last night while rubbing stress test for heat

stunt-monkey 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Ah right so the in and out is correct because you rotated the block, yeah does look a lot cleaner, i'd also hate to have that GPU out having to curve to the cpu in, rather have the straight tube as you have done

Yognaught_Ace 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Man knew the second I saw this it would get a feature..... i was right lol, nice one

Mr.Gamer_3x3 1 point 10 months ago

I was thinking a good name could be Candy Cane, but Dragon Flight is much more original. Lol

Awesome looking build tho.

OscarGula 1 point 10 months ago

Weres de SLI bridge?? Relly man.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

It has a ski bridge on it

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

It has a ski bridge on it that is a temp one that came with my mobo I bought a different one from msi for Aesthetics

Songster 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Man, THAT is a very beautiful build. Well done. Well done.

+1

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks there was a lot of thought and planning with this !

KusHusky 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Looking good man! Definitely worth the feature. Loving the white/red.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks yeah i love the color coordination When i saw that case when it first came out i loved it but they didn't have a white version of it only black and everyone has black and white looks so clean. Then i thought of red for the grills and the drain port and Harddrive slots on the back would pop really well then thought of the GPU backplastes being black i thought it would clash so i painted them but then they looked plain so i found that MSI dragon decal on ebay and got them sized to fit on the card perfectly

KusHusky 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Yea man honestly thats a genius idea. I'm absolutely a fan of that! The color combination is definitely epic and that red contrasts the white perfectly.

Farrii 1 point 10 months ago

2 questions. Why 1080p? Why no 7200rpm Hybrids?

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I got those monitors for about 75$ each on a sale and these 2tb Firecudas are 7200 rpm hybrids the partpicker list seems to have pulled incorrect information when i was adding the parts

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I didnt notice that the part list grabbed the 5400 rpm ones i have 7200 rpm hybrids

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Not sure how to change it in the parts list

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

There we go updated it thanks for the notice i didnt notice i selected wrong rpm

soumyadeeps974 1 point 10 months ago

what about your mouse and keyboard??

Neratex 1 point 10 months ago

What is this thing called how your RGB things. I mean these two things at the Back of your PC. Would appreciate it if you could send me a link

Shaking_Sniper 1 point 10 months ago

Extremely well-built PC that deserves the feature.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Thank you that means a lot I put lots of planning and thought into all the custom painting in the build

The_Undead_Reaper 1 point 10 months ago

I (along with others) would like to see some benchmarks of this machine. PS: This deserves more upvotes

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I will be posting benchmarks stock and after my overclock soon I am still bleeding air out of the system as well stress testing benchmarks to get highest stable overclock I can on CPU GPUs and RAM I am currently stable at 5 GHz I'm gonna try to push past that . as I am not delidded so we will see how much more I can go

tony475130 1 point 10 months ago

Normally I'd be against all the cable clutter you got going on. but the sleeving somehow makes it look good to me. Either way, love the themed build! And nice to see someone using the view 71!

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I am still working with training the cables with cable combs to clean up as much as I cab and tucked away neatly

Camranatic101 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

nice

chavezgarrett7 3 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I just wanna say, I was like 100 :) I love red and white builds. They are so niceeee.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you . yes white looks so clean over black that so many people do

chavezgarrett7 3 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I did it lol. Wish I could do white/red, but for the parts I wanted, it would have been more expensive. And the case I wanted, it was a blue white variant, or a black red variant, so I had to make a decision.

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Hard to beat the beauty of a custom cooling loop with custom cables. Great job.

Thumbs up and congrats on the featured spot.

bbogle86 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Outstanding build, from the custom paint job to the water loop to the sleeved cables. Virtually the only things I would change are the monitors (I read through the comments so I saw you got a great deal on them, but 1080P @ 60 Hz is a waste of SLI 1080s) and more cable combs. It looks like you just have the one comb on the 24 pin cable, where three white or silver combs could make it look infinitely tidier. Same goes for the GPU PCIe cables. Other than that though man, hats off, you've done really nice work here!

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks yes working with cable comes now as well as custom painting a sli bridge . and yes for monitors the plan is to work towards some 144 hz ones but I was playing off the TV hanging off the wall before those and I got them for so cheap I just got them . and I am working with more cable combs on GPU and have put two more on the 24 pin as well . I was just waiting for them to come in the mail on the cable combs

bbogle86 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Glad to hear it! Well kudos once again, I hope my first hard line cooling system comes out looking half as good.

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks . yes this was my first hard line build my advice take your time I spent 15 hours bending those tubes and I could of done better I think now that I have some experience doing it

johnny8557 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

awesom,bro...one of the better loops ive seen in awhile...1+ from me man, that should treat ya mighty fine for a good bit:)

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks . I didn't get them perfect with the bending they aren't as even as I would like but it was my first time bending . down the road I might attempt to fix and straighten some if the bends to make them more parallel with each other

johnny8557 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

yeah,if ya look at my build, was my 1st time doing any watercooling and had some bends not looking the way i wanted them to be,if ya go to home depot/lowes,you can buy some tubing pretty cheap,it wouldnt be the perfect fit for your fittings but the insert will fit in them fine, its great practice and its cheap as heck!!

Duthsa 1 point 4 months ago

This is where I tend to cringe, the whole/ do I fix it or leave it be, I dont want leaks! If its working fine I tend to try to hide the less than perfect bits, as I have learned tweaking can get expensive...but then again, knowing its not perfect would drive me crazy (er) GJ, love the build and ty for sharing

Offwhite 1 point 10 months ago

This is an AMAZING build, looking for builds like these to be my first gaming, ( i have built tons of computers for work) And this is my favorite, i just dont know if i could paint the case haha. Anyways great job +1

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you and painting the case is pretty easy just stripping it down and taking apart the front IO buttons off

Orphik 1 point 9 months ago

This is great looking!

I just purchased this case, and i am wondering what paint did you use to make it white?

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Rustolem gloss white enamal

Orphik 1 point 9 months ago

Just a spray paint or brush on?

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

Spray

Duthsa 1 point 4 months ago

Not any advice here: just posting a GJ....Nice build! You have vastly more patience than I! TBH it never occurred to me to paint the tower to match...well, I mean I never put that much effort into it...but then, my art tends to be heard not seen so much...GJ, I have nothing real to offer as advice goes, cable management is art form/science all in itself! Dual 1080ti's I could only dream of using all that power, is why I looked into the comments....Thanks all you guys I learn so much from you all!

BreadyBoi 1 point 3 months ago

Hey, new builder here, would you mind linking the water cooling loop and tell me how its holding up so far?

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

It's holding up great the parts I used the ek configuration to get all parts

Robross 1 point 1 month ago

Awesome job

Evil_Paroxysm 5 Builds 0 points 10 months ago

Nice build, now to cable manage those wires! Its a must, especially with a glass desk. Get some stick on J channel and mount a channel under the glass towards the rear. Will really help clean the setup up.

ocyogirrafe 1 point 10 months ago

agreement here

vonmockkhory submitter 1 Build 0 points 10 months ago

Yes still working with the wires i just set it up on the desk and the cable management on the back of the case is about as good as it is going to get with how the 2 fan controllers are laid out

Evil_Paroxysm 5 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I just moved out of a very similar desk to yours. If you looked at picture 11 on this old build of mine you can see how I managed the wires. Hindsite 20-20 and what I did on this most recent build is I mounted the sticky side under the desk instead of the wall. Makes it a bit cleaner and doesnt tear paint off (even though it's not supposed to yet it does) off the walls.
