Description

I built this system back in 2011. I upgraded the case, cooler and added some memory in 2013. Since I just built a new PC I am trying to decide whether to use this old one to build a NAS or set it up with Linux in order to learn pen testing.

It still runs great. I removed my GTX 970 from this one to use in my new build until I upgrade the graphics card. I will either re-install the 970 here or just use my old 8800GT once I determine if it still works.

EDIT: I ended up selling this to a friend with the GTX 970. It was a great system that lasted me 8 years.

I vote for the 970, it will pair well with the i5. I'm thinking the iGPU must be better than a 8800 GT anyways

Using the iGPU was actually my plan but the motherboard does not have a video port of any kind. I may just end up accessing the machine remotely and throw the 970 in to get everything setup. It would alleviate the need for another monitor/keyboard/mouse or a KVM switch on my desk.

Do you mean how much it cost to build or how much I might sell it for?
