Description

RGB FOR DAYS!!! But sometimes I turn the fans to all white for a different look.

My X99 build fried my CPU and sold what I could on ebay or locally to fund this new build. I wanted to replace the mobo and CPU but decided to just go all out and build new. Only thing left from it is the EVGA PSU.

The Corsair H115i Platinum is a beauty and the pictures doesn't do it any justice and very quiet I might add.

Lian-li PC-011 Dynamic is an awesome case and I see why its so popular, I originally wanted the Corsair 570x but the SP120 fans wasn't ARGB (lol)

Also I started with the Asus z390 Maximus Hero XI mobo but could not access the 2nd m.2 slot so I RMAa'd it and settled with the MSI Z390 Meg Ace and it has a better VRM

i7 9700k is OC'd to 5ghz @ 1.325v and G.Skill Ram is @ 3600mhz - 1.35v. The GPU is left at stock clocks.

How are the fans? Do you recomend them?

  • 1 point

Also how bright are the led strips? Do you think 2 of them could illuminate a mid tower case?

  • 1 point

2 strips will illuminate it. And most definitely recommended, I have them static @ 1000rpm and they are pretty quiet. The reason I chose them was because the rgb looks the same on both intake and exhaust side

Great Build. I wanted to confirm about another comment as I am looking at using some very similar components and I was wondering if you are able to control the H115i fans and water block RGB with the Mystic Light Sync? I know the fans should be good but I have heard issues with controlling the RGB on the waterblock? Are you able to sync the entire rig to the Mystic light app?

One more question, what made you decide on the MSI MEG ACE motherboard?

  • 1 point

Corsair fans and waterblock rgb is through iCue and everything else is through mystic lighting.

Also for the price range of $239 (on sale) when i got the msi meg, it has the one of the best vrm and aesthetic for that price range. I got the asus hero xi first which i returned because of the stuck m.2 screws.

  • 2 points

Thanks for the response, since you are using both Mystic and iCue, how do they stand up against each other. What I have been able to find is that the Mystic is a little lacking compared to the options available in the iCue. What has your experience been and have you tired to control the Corsiar with the Mysitc?

  • 1 point

I have not. Although the mobo came with a corsair rgb header, i didn't use it because i don't have lighting node pro or commander by corsair. I used the usb2.0 to control the h115i cpu cooler

+1 for the Gaming X trio, it was made for overclocking.

  • 1 point

Will definitely overclock it in the near future when games I play go below my screen refresh rate, but for testing purposes I was able to get 2070 on the core and 8250 on the memory

  • 2 points

Those numbers are quite high especially the memory. Probably possible because you have those bottom intakes feeding it. nice nice..

  • 2 points

they defiinitely help with temps, while gaming, temps never go above 62

  • 1 point

is it at ~100% gpu usage? I get 2055mhz core, 7850 memory and it stays below 62 also

  • 1 point

Yes and it was just for a few mins though, I wouldn't call it stable until further testing.

What would you rate the motherboard, msi bios and headphones

4.9/5 because it only has 1 argb connection, haha. As for the bios, its great but asus is still the best.

Only 2 sticks of ram??? I would expect that you would put a lot more ram than that in your 4000$ build... smh my head

  • 1 point

Only reason why it reaches 4k cuz of monitors and peripherals. Otherwise its around $2.6k. and for what i user it for, 16gb is plenty. I'll add 2 more sticks when its time to add.

  • 1 point

What are you using to control all the rgb to make the same? You have antec and Corsair items

  • 1 point

Corsair iCue and the antec came with a controller that will also sync with MSI mystic via ARGB header or ASUS aura and gigabyte rgb fusion depending which MOBO u have.

  • 1 point

How loud are the H115i ? I have a open-ear headset, so any loud noise is aa no no for me.

  • 1 point

Not bad at all. Personally i set them at 1000rpm and u can barely hear it.

  • 1 point

What GPU Bracket is that? I have the same case and graphics card with an i9-9900k

Its the one by cooler master. I got it on amazon

  • 1 point

How are the temperatures and the noise with 2 fans on both side of the radiator?

  • 1 point

Can't hear it at all unless its whisper quiet in the room. I have them set to 1100rpm. ML and LL series fans by corsair are really quiet

  • 1 point

Did you use the RGB Strips that comes with the Antec Prizm Kit?

Btw I'm trying to copy this build man, it's sick! The only thing I'm changing is the GPU, Mobo and AIO with the Kraken x72. What do you think?

  • 1 point

Yes i used the led strips. Also, I wanted the x72 too but i found some LL140 super cheap locally and just used it as push pull on the rad, haha. Also which GPU are you thinking about using?

  • 1 point

The thing is Microcenter it's like 3 hours from I live. So, basically I just can buy online :( I'm getting AORUS 2080 Ti Xtreme.

I will use the LED Strips then, I belive in your build! Can you give me like a little bit of info? How does it looks? Did you need to get like a Commander Pro for the fans and RGB strips? Also, I'll probably add a mini screen 8" or 10" inside the for the temperatures.

  • 1 point

No commander pro needed. The antec fans and led strips has their own controller. The corsair fan/water block is controlled by a software called iCue

  • 1 point

What software are you using to sync up all the different brands of RGB going on in here? There's like 4 different brands but they all look to be in unison.

  • 1 point

Just 2, MSI mystic and corsair iCue. It took a few tweaks to get it looking synced, haha

Beautiful build and great pics! Could you have mounted the GPU without the bracket? Or would it hit the glass if it was lying flat? I have the same case I was planning on using in a future build and was just wondering. Also how are you liking that CPU cooler now that you've been using it for a few Months?

  • 1 point

Yes you can mount the gpu without the bracket with plenty of room. The CPU cooler is still performing wonderful and thanks for the compliment

I think the only thing missing is the white version for the AOI. I have it and it suits a white case perfectly.
