Description

I started this build over the Summer of '18 and have been upgrading it since. Finished it off with these gorgeous case fans some time around the end of November and have fallen in love. I use it mainly for gaming, hence the 1080 and the 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor. I've got my Ryzen 5 2600 overclocked at 4.2GHz at 1.35V stable and my GPU overclocked at +80/+400 stable. I might try to push the GPU further as time goes on, but that's what it sits at for now. The PSU was an impulse buy a few years back and, yes, I know it is overkill haha.

The most surprising part of this build had to be the case fans. When I was searching for the right fans, all I knew I wanted was white LEDs. I came across these because they move an insane amount of air and are extremely quiet at the same time.

The second surprise was probably the case. I got it because it was a cheap tempered glass case, however I've grown quite fond of it. It has all the features you could want bunched up into one hell of a budget case. Cable management velcro in the back, room for 280mm radiator up front, and hidden PSU shroud.

P.S. Yes I know I got an incredible deal on the monitor, it was on sale at Best Buy for $350 and they had a 30% cashback deal for Samsung Pay and for some reason they took 30% of retail value ($600), which brought it down to $179.99

I'd like to question the title, but nothing else because it's a nice build

It's bright for sure, I wouldn't say that it's brighter than your future though.

You got a very good deal on the RAM too! Have you benchmarked it? Haven't been able to find any info on it

I benchmarked it using the userbenchmark tool, however I haven't used any RAM specific benchmarks

I’m sure a quick google search would explain to me what I can never understand, but the fact that cases with trims along the edges of the tempered glass side panel are always black :( I think this case would look so much better if it were in the style of an old acrylic windowed panel but with glass instead.

By the way a really nice build :) +1

How is the motherboard. Were you able to get ram over 3000mhz

I like the motherboard quite a lot, it's my second ASRock and I've had no issues. It goes on sale for ~$80 every now and then and is a pretty good steal imo. I just set my ram to 3000mhz using the XMP profile and have had zero issues.

What is the volume that you get running these cougar fans?

First of all amazing build. Second I am about to buy a pc and have been looking at parts and really liked this motherboard. I also want to go with a Ryzen 5 2600 but am not sure about the overall compatibility between them. Idk how to do a bios update or know how hard it is. (Pcpp says I may need to do one). I saw you were the only one on pcpartpicker who had these 2 components together and am just wondering if you had to do anything extra to make them work. Thanks :)
