Great build looks like it is a lot of fun.

I'd love to see more pics of the actual build guts and how you have it all wired up in that test bench case. ~

Curious what your temps are with that 4.6Ghz overclock when running Intelburn or Prime 95 for more than 2 hours? My h100i has me at 80c with a 4.5Ghz overclock after just 2 hours of full load.

the 2 XT's in raid outperform a single WD red even at 3gbs and take up the same space which works for me , and I have a Samsung 840D Pro in the machine that mashes that Sandisk

Even if you had to change plans a bit, you could've gone with a GTX 690.

Either way, awesome build.

You can get 8 monitors with nvidia if you have enough graphics cards.

Interesting case choice

I like using the "open" case bench style but you do have to keep a "swiffer" on ready standby ,and watch for static discharge

My friend's brother used a test bench with a custom fitted, hand made plexiglass casing that the test bench @ parts easily slide in and out of. I've seen picture, the thing looks damn cool.

Hey you used a SSHD drive in your build

I love the things , 2 make a great raid and the size is right on , the Patriot drive caddies I use do not support 6.0 sata so i cannot put the Samsung SSD in it , it is tucked up underneath on 6.0 sata. I have a 500gb XT in my Dell XPS laptop and 2 500gb XT's in raid 0 in one of the other machines and have had ZERO issues with them .

Great build but aren't you worried about dust at all? Also where did you get that crazy deal on the RAM

  • 1 point

I bought the first pair for the original price , over $450 , when they first came out which was a few years ago , then I found a cat on Ebay about a year ago that had a couple of pairs and snatched another pair , this stuff was Corsairs top dog low latency at the time and since 1600 seems to still be the "standard" it has not really fallen behind

here is some as of today , it is 1.65 volt but I have no issues with it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corsair-dominator-gt-4gb-ddr3-1600-mhz-2x2gb-AIRFLOW-FAN-/251267202355?pt=US_Memory_RAM_&hash=item3a80b13d33

lower timings and low latency are as important as MHZ and you can't find hardly anything "new" with cas 7 latency

haven't been here for a bit ...yes...it can hold 3...I have 3 Patriot Convoy drive caddies in the spot where 3.5 drives would go ( the yellow things)
