So I have done a couple of updates since I completed the build in Dec 17.
Due to the blower style card and a SFF case I was seeing some pretty high temps on my GPU (around 80C+). The card type is a ASUS Turbo GTX 1080 and, as it turns out, no one but Bitspower does a full GPU cover for this. After looking at an alternative from Alphacool I managed to find the EKWB universal block on eBay for half of the normal price unused.
I had to add my own heatsinks and some thermal pads, which I got from Amazon, and a bit of arts and crafts to make my own backplate but I know have both my CPU and GPU reading ~50C even under heavy load.
I have also added some new cables which I got from Shakmods in the UK which finish it off nicely.
I think I may have the custom loop bug now though as I am looking at my MidTower case and thinking about moving to that so I can have another play.
Thank you for your comments so far.
After building a few different systems in a Mid ATX case and a super SFF (Fractal Design Node 202) I decided to have a go at making something that was as much as a show piece as it was functional.
This was my first time setting up a custom loop and involved a lot of trial and error, shaving a silicone insert and numerous purchases when I realized I was missing one part, then another and another...
I have some ideas of what I want to do next: - Custom sleeve my own cable extensions, going for a orange, black, blue and grey colour scheme - Add a GPU waterblock, due to the limited support for the Asus Turbo I will probably look at either the full block from Bitspower (if I can get hold of one in the UK), or the Alphacool option. - Custom PSU shroud made from plexi - Custom GPU Back Plate made from Plexi - Change a few of the tubes (mainly due to the addition of the GPU)
I am going to take the character Deathstroke from the DC universe as a bit of inspiration as I like the character, the colour scheme and it also fits with some of the things I already have so that's a bonus.
I'll put up the second attempt when I make the changes.
