Description

I put this together with a mix of stuff I had and some new parts, I have a 8700k in my main build I just wanted to have a bit of fun OC'ing a 8600k to see how far it can go. currently 5.1ghz with a 4.8ghz cache OC @1.4v LLC1. ram is at 3500mhz with slightly tighter timings then stock @1.4v. The GPU is at just over 1900mhz with 4000mhz on the VRAM (pretty happy with that). I am going to try get the CPU and DDR4 slightly higher with some BCLK overclocking and a delid, my 8700k will do 5.24ghz and by god this 8600k will do it to! Before you comment yes I know a 850w is overkill I got it for cheep second hand and if its drawing below 400w the fan dose not turn on so its silent basically all the time with this pc and that pretty cool. I am not going to put it in a case because this PC is basically just for fun and I will probably give the parts to friends or sell them when I get tired of it. I got that motherboard for $60 at Micro center because of the open box and combo deals and the other stuff I ether got cheep or already had. The only change I have made since that picture is moving one of those Noctua fans to blow air down on the VRM.

       Advice on this hardware.

The 960 evo is sick AF, you do notice a difference between it and a 850 evo SATA SSD.

The Fatal1ty K6 has allot of V droop under lode, if you get this board (and I do recommend it) set the LLC to level 1, on most boards that is too high but not on this one.

The 1050 Ti is a good card despite it being cheep, (just don't ever play more then $140 for one wait for the price to come back down pleas I had this one already).

Has Noctua and RGB - Seems complete to me !!

That transparent case reminds me of the one I'm using for my Mining Rig (check my builds). We call it an "Open Air" case Grin..

Glad to see I'm not the only one that can feel the difference with the 960 EVO M.2 compared to a standard Sata SSD. I just put one of those in my Son's Gaming Rig for the OS and it was very snappy.

I still have hopes to get one for my Rig one day, but as usual my own stuff is pretty low priority....

Very Nice Part selection, and Build

Thanks for Sharing !!

The 1050 Ti is a lovely card. Mine runs all of my games 60 fps at high to highest detail, and it manages to never get above 50 degrees.

how did you find a 1050 Ti for only $130? Not only that but 16GB of ram for only $100. It usually costs 8GB for that much

I'm thinking of moving my rig to a bench, but I'm not sure if my mobo VRM's will be ok. Did you not the before and after temps with the fan under load ?

honestly just buy a cheep fan and un it at like 30% speed blowing down on the VRM. It dose not need very much air at all and I get much better VRM temps open air with or without fan than in a case.

I'm looking at a dimastech nano, it comes with an arm to attach a fan to it, but I think it destroys the over all clean look. But it seems your saying it doesn't matter to much.

If you need it depends on the motherboard and how hard you want to OC. I just sort of balance to fans on things lol and it has worked well for me.

Are you going to get a case soon because you will have some dust issues.

Where did you get the RAM?

Got it on Craigslist a while back. I always run my cases with the dust filters out for more air flow and I have one open air test benches like this in the past and have had no problems, other people just seem to have dirty houses or something.
