Description

My first ever build and self-instructed on part picking. works completely fine and is a workstation/gaming build. Definitely, do need some advice. Also, I am a senior in high school and need some opinion on if this build will last through college (4years). UPDATED: 9-26-18 I bought some Cablemod extensions and used cable combs, velcro, and cable mesh

You should turn the fans. Front -> intake (like the lower one) and rear to suck out the hot air.

I like the cpu fan in red...I'd leave the fans the way they are.

Looks like you only have 1 stick of memory? I think you want two for dual channel? I dont know about your cpu, but I know on my AMD chip theres significant gains going from ddr 2400 to 3000.

Congrats on your first build!

I looked up the dual channel vs 1 stick and apparently dual channel would only be up to 12% faster, but could yield zero gains too..so nevermind;-)

Yea that will last for about 4 years, your next upgrade should be on your ram. Another 8GB stick will definitely make it feel new, and you can also buy the i7-7700K if you wanted the King of Clockspeeds for Kaby Lake. It has lots of upgrade ability so you should be fine for a decent amount of time.

I have been trying for weeks to find solid data to verify whether or not this cpu cooler would interfere with the heat sinks on the patriot viper 4 sticks on an atx MOBO. thank you so much. seriously, I had half a mind to get it anyways and cut off the metal bits on top of the sticks to make it fit. knowing I don't have to is comforting.

ye it does interfere with the ram but i have done the measurements but you can get low profile ram for about $10 more dollars
